TV Guide has suggestions for the Emmy drama nominations. SMG for Outstanding Lead Actress and Tom Lenk for Outstanding Supporting Actor.

I'm going go out on a limb here and say BtVS won't win any serious awards but Angel will get some nominations this year but won't win anything either.

But the Emmy panel may wish to honour Joss Whedon so he may get some sort of recognition. Firefly could get nominated in one of the minor categories but for a cancelled series this may be unlikely. And lets hope this type of mistake won't happen again.

I can't believe James Marsters wasn't mentioned for Outstanding Supporting Actor. He has been required to preform such a wide variety of roles within one character (comic relief, evil villan, crazyman, romantic lead, etc.) and in particular in Season 7 #2 "From Beneath you it Devours" he slide for one role to another without loss of credibility.
Also, as with Sarah Michelle Gellar, when he was the first evil he managed to be a create a character totally separate from the character of Spike, no easy task for any actor.
Even if some viewers did not like the direction the writers took the storyline of Buffy the Vampire Slayer none of them can say that James Marsters did not show exceptional skill in how he preformed what was required of him.
To consider Tom Lenk, who did show he can deliver as a comic relief but did nothing outstanding enough to warrent an Emmy Nomination, and to not mention James Marsters seems wrong.
I just wanted to add another comment about the Emmy Nominations
Sarah Michelle Gellar has been missed too many times and it would be nice to see her recognized for the skill she has always displayed making Buffy real to so many fans.
Definitely would put Marsters in there. Have to give a Farscape shoutout, too, to my man Ben Browder. I just starting taping and watching some of the eps I had missed that are now showing at midnight on Sci-Fi -- talk about emotion and conflict.
If anyone from Buffy or Angel wins an Emmy this year, I will personally spin my gazongas backwards. I don't think I'm in much danger of having to do so, not because the actors aren't great, but because the industry just doesn't like scifi/horror-y kinds of shows. They'd prefer to hand out statuettes to "serious" shows. snort.
I'm with lynsa. Not only will no one win, all of the shows will be snubbed across the board. I'm 90% sure of that.
I'm all about giving Tom Lenk an Emmy...not only because I think he deserves it, but because I think his acceptance speech would be a riot. =)
