Eliza Dushku talks Dollhouse, praises Joss. Little snippet of an interview over at the Edmonton Sun.

That page was a bit of a pain to load *kicks computer*

"Joss is a friend. I love him. We want to play hard. We're excited,"

Can I play too? ;)
Have Echo and the Dollhouse always been linked to the government? Did I just space on that whole aspect from previous interviews, etc?
So let`s talk Dollhouse an praise Joss, too! ^^

Good speak she's speaking there. So go play it hard! :-D
That is the first time I have seen the word government used.

I assume there have been a few refinements to the original napkin plan.
Eliza doesn't say "Government"; The Author of the Article does. It might be so, but confirmation would be nice.
Aren't creepy programs like this always the government?

I totally hadn't picked up before that Boston Diva is the production company she's started. It looks like this will be its site.

It was mentioned a couple Dollhouse threads ago, I think. Does this mean people don't read every single comment here? Oh, wait, neither do I.
So does that mean no Mutant Enemy for Dollhouse?

Also, I assumed the word government was the author of the article misinterpreting the premise, rather than having priviledged information. But it'll be interesting to see.
I don't believe the government agent line, reckon the author just got things wrapped round their neck slightly, possibly during a "It's 'Alias' meets 'Total Recall'" style explanation of the premise.

Maybe it'll be a Mutant Enemy/Boston Diva co-production ? Mutant Diva ?
Saje Boston Enemy?

Mutant Boston?

Diva Enemy?

Mutant Boston Diva Enemy!

And instead of the typical little Grr Argh dude it'll be a female zombie w/shades, going "End, yo."
No, no. The Grr arrgh must return. Must.

Does this mean people don't read every single comment here?

I do read more comments than I should. More importantly, I missed the mention of Boston Diva in an article I did read, which said:

The actress' Boston Diva Production and Whedon's Mutant Enemy will produce the show
Yeah, I doubt the government angle too.
I'm in tears, can't wait for the return of Joss. With the state of television today, we really need him.
With the state of television today, we really need him.

I won't dispute the needing, but there is some of the most awesome TV ever being produced these days,
I'm absolutely loving having more good television on than I can possibly watch. Dollhouse will be a highly anticipated addition, but today's television is hardly in some sorry state.

With USA, FX, AMC, TNT, TBS, BBC America, SciFi, Lifetime, ABC Family, and others all putting out good quality original series (not to mention HBO and Showtime) today's choices for quality scripted programming are better and more diverse than ever.
Ah, TamaraC, that's only IF you have cable/dish and can get those channels. If, however, you're one of the poor, you're limited to FUXFOX, PBS, ABC, NBC and CBS. And therein lies your not-entirely-groovy viewing choices.

I honestly don't remember the last comedy I watched "religiously." Might've been The Nanny. I used to like According to Jim but it quickly got to be the same plot - Jim'd do something stupid, Cheryl'd reprimand him for it, then she'd so something almost identical that he'd call her on. Ho-hum. When I remember it's on I'll catch 2 & 1/2 Men. I liked Scrubs initially, but I missed a couple episodes and found it didn't matter to me if I did or not.

I didn't start watching Buffy until mid-way through Season Six, and then it was mostly reruns on FX (Back when I had cable when I was sharing the bill). I got hooked quickly and started watching the rest of the season (I missed OMWF the first time around; I think I watched the last half of "All the Way" when it first aired) but have yet to see the majority of Angel. So it'll be nice to have a full season of Joss to watch.

We were there for the conception, we'll get to see the birth, and we'll be there through the growing pains and I just squicked myself out.
Well, we weren't actually there for the conception. That would've been kind of intrusive. :-)
Even without basic cable, Fox has Bones, House, and Terminator. All good shows. ABC has Lost, Greys Anatomy, Dirty Sexy Money, Pushing Daisies, and about ten others. NBC has The Office, Chuck, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, Life, and many others. CBS has Jericho, HIMYM, Big Bang Theory, Numbers (and that is about it).

All are top quality.
Well, we weren't actually there for the conception. That would've been kind of intrusive. :-)

Next on "World's Most Death Defying Toilets", Joss Whedon literally - and figuratively - makes shit up.

Is it wrong that i'd still probably buy the DVD ?
jcs Well, ok, not actually there there, but we found out as soon as it was confirmed.

Saje That's so many levels of wrong. :-P

TamaraC Of your list I watch...Bones, T:SCC...yep, that's it. In fact, I watch: T:SCC, Bones, SVU, L&O and CSI. That's all. And Doctor Who if PBS ever gets caught up - I was able to see the first two seasons, but only "Blink" of this current one. And that only beause of YouTube.
You guys crack me up!:)

I'll say again, so looking forward to Joss on the air.
ShadowQuest, that doesn't mean that all the programming you are missing out on isn't of high quality. I guess I don't see what the problem is.

TamaraC You said: "With USA, FX, AMC, TNT, TBS, BBC America, SciFi, Lifetime, ABC Family, and others all putting out good quality original series (not to mention HBO and Showtime) today's choices for quality scripted programming are better and more diverse than ever."

To which I replied: "That's only IF you have cable/dish and can get those channels. If, however, you're one of the poor, you're limited to FOX, PBS, ABC, NBC and CBS. And therein lies your not-entirely-groovy viewing choices."

The way your post was worded almost made it sound like the only quality programs worth watching were on cable/dish, and I simply said that not everyone has those channels, and so their options for quality are limited. Didn't say any of the programs available on the Basics are or are not quality - that depends on each viewer's tastes and how they define "quality."

You think House & Grey's Anatomy are high-quality. I disagree. I've tried watching both programs and don't care for either one. Pushing Daisies confused and annoyed me. shrug My taste is not yours, any more than Saje's taste is mine. And I don't think I'm "missing out" on anything, other than the Bronzers' Reunion this weekend.

I love Buffy. I might love Angel if I ever get to see the whole series. Still bummed Firefly was shafted the way it was; own it & rewatch it often, as well as Serenity. I'm excited to have a new Joss show to watch from the start. If it's like his other three than quality is pretty much a given.
Now I see where you are coming from, SQ. Tastes differ, that is certainly true.
You guys have no idea how pumped I am to hear the "grrr arrrgh" at the end of Dollhouse. I'm a Whedon convert from DVDs. Never seen any of his TV shows live. This is going to be such a treat. I'm so excited!!!
In L.A. talk this show was pitched as "The Bourne Identity" meets "The Stepford Wives"
I am crazy bored, so as far as I know, these are the good shows on TV right now:

Battlestar Galactica
Big Love
Entourage
Flight of the Conchords
Lost
The Office
Rescue Me
Scrubs
South Park
Tell Me You Love Me
30 Rock

Not all of which I watch regularly, as some I'm catching up with on DVD.

There are, of course, many good shows that I'm missing out on, but these do not include CSI, Law & Order, House, or Smallville, in my opinion. ;-)
I know this is off topic but I didn't know where else to ask...Does anyone know where I can writw Joss Whedon a letter? Thank you.
wheels, I don't think he has a fan mail address. Although everybody seems to think it's Kiba.

The goverment thing has, I think, come up once before publicly.
The only mention of government I remember is "the federal agent who has heard an urban myth about the dolls, and is trying to investigate their existence", as reported by Variety.
Law & Order isn't a show, it's a force of nature :)

I bet we get two production things at the end, whatever the Boston Diva logo panel thing is, and then the Grr Arrgh.

I am going to be really excited to hear who else gets cast on this show. Didn't Michael Muhney say he wanted in? You could only fill the entire show with nothing but regular and guest actors from "Veronica Mars" and have a great show.
Morgan Freeman is playing Echo, Kate Beckinsdale is playing God.
Actually, Kate Beckinsale has officially announced that she doesn't have the right underwear to play God.

Morgan Freeman is in talks to play the tough but fair but stupid President of the USA who hires Echo to be Osama Bin Laden for the night.

And hey, who said I have taste ? Take that back !

(I absolutely adore 'House' for instance, probably one of my top 10 shows ever. And I watch 'Smallville' but i'd be the first to admit it's not actually a good show ;)

Saje That's so many levels of wrong. :-P

You might say it's hip-deep in ... wrong ;).
Morgan Freeman is in talks to play the tough but fair but stupid President of the USA who hires Echo to be Osama Bin Laden for the night.

I feel compelled to ask you to take that back, Saje. I'm fairly certain there's a law against using the word 'stupid' in the same sentence with the name of Morgan Freeman. (Well, it's my law, anyhow. ;-)
The guy can really act though, I think he's got the chops to pull it off ;).
Zing, *thunk* bullseye ;-)
Every tv/movie discussion here, given enough comments, inevitably includes ironic imaginary casting of Morgan Freeman.
From Eliza's comment, I really hope the tagline is going to be

Dollhouse- Come play with us...
I know Sunfire, I just haven't been around long enough to know how it got started.:)
