(SPOILER) Whedon chips - or Joss' influence in the future. Philip Palmer pays tribute to Joss (and Buffy season 4) in his debut sci-fi novel 'Debatable Space '. Link goes to the relevant page from the book on Amazon's Online Reader.

I was reading the book this week and grinned when I saw the reference.
