Casting process rumours for Dollhouse. Want to know who might be auditioning for Joss' new show?

I could definitely see BSG's Billy as Victor.

Now THAT'S Victor! Oi! Joss!
Brennan Elliot is not the 4400 actor I'm crossing my fingers to see in a role in this show, but I could see it, I guess!
Hmm...is this what Nathan's doing this week?
Anyone else tickled that Ian Anthony Dale was 'Drugged Vamp #3' on Angel (Release, S4)?
Ben! Billy! Drugged Vamp #3!
Which part is the older mentor character?

No idea who those folks were but they're ... um, pretty.
The mentor/handler is Boyd. Victor is the male doll, Paul is the FBI agent. And my my they are very pretty...
Just for clarification, is this Joss' new show or Eliza's new show? It was Eliza's deal and Joss' idea, or does it matter?.
Or am I just chasing my own tail? (No it's not a real tail.) Either way, I will still watch.
kmbpp, the answer to all those questions is yes.
Personally, I think Ian Anthony Dale, of whom I've never heard prior to this moment, looks more capable of the Errol Flynn role... :)
I love Paul Campbell from his role in the pilot of "Nobodies Watching," which is brilliant and available for free on YouTube.

I don't know these Ian Anthony Dale or Brennan Elliot people, but looks like they've done a lot of TV work, so good on them. I still have to say hooray for Paul before them though, because I actually know some of his work and enjoy it quite a bit.
Oh good god! Speaking solely for myself, Brennan Elliot is NSFW. I'll be in my bunk. Or under my desk. I'd watch that man read the phone book.
Hm. Good looking enough to be in the show. I don't know how well they can act. I suppose I'll see soon :-)
Thanks gossi, for making the last 10 minutes of my work day paiinfully delicious. It should be illegal for any guy to be that pretty.
I'd be just fine watching any of them. ;) Although I think I'd prefer Paul Campbell. I loved him on BSG.
I think Ian and Paul would be excellent additions to the cast. I don't know anything about Brennan.
At least it was a Cold Case clip of Brennan and wasn't an anger inducing 4400 clip! :D
Ok! He is very very pretty. I'm on board with the Brennan Elliot-ness. And not safe for work is absolutely right. I have never watched Cold Case. That might have to change. Are there any other redeeming qualities to that show?
I'm so happy to hear Paul Campbell had an audition, I really hope it went well!
I've seen them all. They are all very purty and good actors.
Crossed fingers for Paul Campbell- loved him on BSG *sniff* Billy, and I could definitely picture him in the Jossverse.
Meh- there's such a thing as too pretty (Brendan Elliot). I am excited about Paul Campbell though, I too loved him on BSG. I wonder when and how a casting announcement will be made - I'm impatiently waiting. :)
Billy! I'd love to see him in a Joss show.
I'm going out on a limb and, not having seen any of them on the screen yet, say that they are officially eye candy:-)
Oh. My. I'll be in that bunk too, ok? Sure, it's getting awfully crowded in here. The more the merrier, I guess. :) Gosh. Where was I? Right. Acting.

Brennon is more of a hunk and would be well suited for the part if it was tending towards the romantic side, I guess. Ian has more of an edge, at least what I can judge from the pictures. I'm not sure if that's a good thing though. :) I would certainly not cast them both, because they look so similar.
And as much as I loved Paul on BSG, I don't see a young DeNiro in him. But I have been said to be wrong once in a while. And I love surprises.

I'm glad Joss is going to cast. He has an eye for sweet guys. Let's just hope they can act better than certain hunks on Buffy/Angel.

Huh? I have never had a problem with the acting from most of the hunks or hunkesses on BtVS/AtS.
Neither did I. And I think the only actors who can rightly be labelled as hunks on both shows are DB and Marc Blucas, neither of which ever disappointed me in the acting department.

Hello, ever hear of James Marsters, Alexis Denisof and J. August Richards?
They're not hunks in the "beefcake" sense generally tied to the word, they're very good-looking and attractive, but not physically built to fill the hunk imagery IMO. That's what I meant.
Perseo, I think my definition is more general. ;-)
Yeah, yeah, I got that:-) To me Tom Lenk is a hunk, but I concede he may not be for the wider world:-)
I don't think it would be unfair to say that David Boreanaz was not that strong of an actor in the first season of "Buffy". In fact, while I'm too lazy to go looking for it, I'm pretty sure the man has said as much himself.

He became a much better actor over the course of working with great talents like Joss, but also Aly and Sarah (anybody still have a link for that Armin Shimmerman interview where he said he walked onto the set thinking he'd show the kids a thing or two, but that they quickly were showing him about acting?).

Sufficed to say that Joss could grab some dudes off the street, and as long as he's got great writers (he does) and a couple of very talented actors as lynchpins (he has one already), they're going to do great.
Heh, where's Uncle Fury when you need him?
I didn't want to start a flame war with that comment, sorry.

Looking at season 1 of Buffy, I'd rate DB as a hunk without much acting skills. That is my personal feeling though, others can feel differently about his talent.
DB gained a lot through Buffy/Angel and finally, Bones, when he finally started to take acting lessons. ;)
I haven't read any of the casting sides, but I assume the auditions for the dolls will have them going through a wide range of characters/emotions to make sure they can, yes? That was the idea behind making the role for Eliza. Since she's got mad skillz, yo.

Well I haven't seen any casting sides for Echo yet but over at io9 they have some pages up that are being used to cast the doll Sierra that show her in three very different situations so it looks like you're right about that.
over at io9 they have some pages up

Wow it took them forever to get ahold of those. Haven't a bunch of us been reading these for like a week now? Heh.

(And, really, they got them from Spoiler TV anyway, as they credit at the bottom.)
bix, you're holding back! Come on, fess up! Spill the beans!
I'm not holding back. We've discussed some of what crops up in the sides in other Dollhouse threads here ever since they leaked.
Well I haven't seen any casting sides for Echo yet...

Unless Joss is thinking about double crossing Eliza and replacing her I doubt we'll see any Echo casting sides. And since this started with Eliza's deal with the studio and she got Joss involved I doubt he could even do that if he (in some bizzaro world) wanted to.
