Cordelia is one of the top 5 TV Bad Girls. Cordelia makes the list as one of the baddest of the bads...

It is hard to think of Cordy as a bad girl, since she did grow and change - on Angel, but also in the third year of Buffy. But the list is right - in her heyday as Queen C, she is unmatched.
Is today Internet list day? I didn't get the memo.
That's one of the greatest things about the Buffyverse--that Cordy can genuinely be the stereotypical popular bitch in the first couple seasons of Buffy and then completely transform herself into who she was on Angel (culminating in "You're Welcome") without us every being able to point at the moment she "changed." It's so realistic. I love it.
TamaraC, this is one of the top 5 list days on the internet.
Then I think we need to hold a poll to see what other list days should have made the ranking. (It's absolutely criminal that you left out July 5, 2004! Have you no TASTE?!)
I agree with Lizarel on tis one, and I wish she was part of "After the Fall"...unless that's already in the works. I do agree she would have made mince meat of the clique at "Gossip Girl".
I agree that early-Cordy belongs on this list (and that Cordy is a whole is one of the most developed and evolved characters ever in pretty much anything) but, as usual, it pains me to see many classics excluded. There seems to be a law the Internet lists be written by people who (A) know pop-culture from the last 10 years pretty well and who are (B) willing to spend upwards of 5 minutes Googling and Wikipedia-ing the rest.

But that aside: Yay Cordy! In this and all other things.
TamaraC, this is one of the top 5 list days on the internet.

March the 18th ? Jeez, what planet are they on ? I mean, sure, early April or one of the better Junes but the 18th of March ? No-one that really knows internet lists days would even put the 18th in their top 20. Fact.
Oh, gods, they're frikity-frakkin' everywhere. Saje, you thought our bouncing about Dr. Horrible was gonna tip the world out of balance, but I think these threads are making the interwebs list... to one side.
without us every being able to point at the moment she "changed."

For me, it was the "Helpless" scene in the library when Cordy comes in on Buffy upbraiding Giles about sapping her strength for the stupid test...she's Cordy all the way, griping about having to do a report on Bosnia or whatever, and if the world's coming to an end, she's not going to bother, and Buffy very softly asks if Cordy can drive her home, and she simply responds, even more softly, with obvious concern, "Of course."

It was, again, for me, the first time genuine human kindness showed its face from her.

I must admit, I do love the line, "Tact is just not saying true stuff. I'll pass."

The most stunningly accurate and tactless way of defining "tact."
Hats off to Janice Soprano - she is one mighty bitca.
I just went and rewatched that scene, Chris inVirginia, and you're right. It's definitely shows just how much more there is to Cordy. I love it.

I'd forgotten, though, just how painful the rest of that confrontation between Buffy and Giles is to watch. I cried. Again.
Just when I thought I'd safely tiptoed past the Ides of March, I have to navigate my way through 'List Day'? Damn.

But as for the so called latter 'good' Cordy- you're forgetting evil-Lilah-murdering-Cordy and her "Why do you think I let him out?" line.

Quite possibly the bestest badass moment of bad Cordy, ever.
Um, I'll probably be the only one saying anything like this: but I just never *got* Cordelia. Never got why she was such an appealing character to so many people & never got why everyone bought the very grown-up Charisma Carpenter playing a teenager. &, As far as her "evolution" or "transformation" goes: meh. It just didn't move me....
Evil preggo Cordy is probably one of the most-unnerving villains I've ever come across. I don't know if that's partly Jasmine's fault, the fact that I knew Cordelia before she was bad, or that psycho pregnant chicks freak me out, but she is one of the creepier villains on television for me.
I grant you that Cordy was a good Bad, but, "psycho pregnant chicks" - is that a thing?

I mean, did I miss a zeitgeist-memo? I swear I did not know that was a thing.

I loved Cordy on Buffy, was not such a big fan of her transformation into... um, Oversoul or thingy, but liked it when she went all preggers and baddy and dressed in black... maybe it was the dressing in black, 'cause those were some clothes, those were...
Ah yes, that moment on the stairs when she reveals her pregnancy - that moment has stayed with me. But I love bitchy Cordelia in the early years. She said such nasty things with such a smile.
