Grifters' stories are never all that good, if you do like an analysis of their text. They're playing the odds and in the moment of telling they do get a certain percentage, which is how they make their living.

This article seems a little mean-spirited. Scifi con-artists are so much more fun and interesting than the real ones.

Psssh. YoSafBridge would have stolen the very clothes off anyone else on the list and be halfway to Boros by the time they realized they'd been had. Her only mistake was trying to play two professional players. Let's not forget that her mechanical prowess had Serenity's two resident supergeeks really impressed. And she disarmed Mal. Ok, that happens a lot, but he knew she'd try and she still got away with it.

It was Christina who made that con-artist character as strong as she was. If there's ever a Serenity 2, I hope she plays a role in the new story. As for the rest of the list, it's great to see C.M. Kornbluth's name come up for "The Space Merchants" (originally, "Gravy Planet") -- think Mad Men on Mars.

True, but YoSafBridge stealing the clothes off anyone is just a day in the life. There's precedent. Not so with most fanfiction plot twists that leave one character surprisingly nekkid. ;)
