Or they could just let the Portland of Oregon exclusively show it in its entirety at its CSTS event this year.
I can dream, yes?

Today has been the best day in a long time. But I'm going to hope that the first episode gets released in its entirety before the actual premiere date. For if it is... well, then I'm having a D-House party.

Polter-Cow, I'd say it's "shiny" as in shiny new clip-y goodness!
I really don't think this day could get any better, unless they decide to put the entire first episode online today, or Eliza Dushku shows up at my house.

I think Joss said once, maybe in a DVD commentray, that one of the reasons SMG was so good, was that she could bring you along into the scene, that you could get the emotion, the thought, the motivation for the scene just by looking at her face...or something like that. Eliza is brilliant at that too, when she's in a scene you're immediately there with her, you can't help it.
I can't help but wonder the levels she's going to have to play when, as rumoured, her character starts to remember something of who she is. So she might sometimes have a role in her thats been programmed, and have to play that, as well as demonstrate her burgeoning self awareness, and convey all that to us. It's going to be a huge role, I can't wait to see her in it.

Doesn't Tahmoh Penikett just radiate integrity and righteousness? And Eliza's just riveting... can't take your eyes off her, which is what usedta happen in BtVS, too.
She had to have a show like this, because she is the kindof talent that's gonna pull focus anyway, so might as well work with it. (Not an intentional upstager - it's because she's just so magnetic - you know, she's got it.. Or, as Dorothy Parker once said, she's got so much "it" she's got "those.")
Jeezum Crow (or Sweet Fancy Jossus) what's left? Joss' original poster emailed to every member of whedonesque? The pilot beamed directly into my iHole? I can't take much more, I'm getting older, and I'm not well. ; >
(And Turbofist911, I'm sorry, I just had to say it: if you don't like a line like "Did you hear that?" that's one thing, but that's not the guy being awful, that's not liking the line.)
QuoterGal | May 16, 04:42 CET
Tahmoh Penikett does indeed "radiate integrity and righteousness". In such a good way. He could play a villain and he'd still be my hero.

Does someone want to try to explain how this scene fits in with everything else we know or have seen? Because I don't really get it.
My theory is that Paul is investigating the Dollhouse, the Dollhouse finds out and programs Echo to go give him the slip. Which she is in the process of doing in this scene.

God almighty. I... I... I'll be in my bunk.
ETA: Oh... except that I was commenting on the preview over on (i09). First commercial break in Lost I'll watch the vid linked to by this thread. brb
ETAA: Yeah, that one was nice too. Nice to see those two getting all acty in a scene together. I've desperately missed me some Eliza... and never fell fro Tru Calling.

No, on a serious note, this has been the best Whedony day in such a long time. Loved the trailer, loved the clip. Could there BE a better thing to come home to after a hard day's work? Thinking not.

It looks like so much fun! Love the actors chosen, that I can see from the previews. Especially the English actress playing Adele? Who's name I don't remember.
Only complaint I have is what the hell is up with the cheesy cliche papyrus font?! Damn I hope that's not going to be used in the long run, bad enough it was used for Serenity.
Sorry I'm a designer.. had to bitch about that. ;)

Oh, and Eliza too of course. And some reviews of it are still calling Tamoh's character Paul Smith (my name, my name, my name, I'm famous and in a Joss show)... so I'm confused about what his name will actually turn out to be in the series.

Oh sure, restrict your comments to what's actually in the clip, I mean, you can prove anything with facts ;-).
Yay to more clippage though out of context it doesn't really do much except intrigue. So she's not his ex and it seems like she has indeed been sent there to set him up which means my speculations were absolutely spot on (well, so long as you ignore the content and just focus on the spaces between words ;).
And yep, they should release the entire episode in clips and then launch a 'Dollhouse Jigsaw' competition - whoever gets closest to the final cut wins a mini Mars-Bar.
Saje | May 16, 11:31 CET
Eliza is so good. I can only imagine how much I'm gonna love this show.
brynmars | May 16, 11:44 CET
As for the "Did you hear that?" line, considering the loud sound was probably added at the editing stage, it was probably just a bit too loud. It's not as if an actor chooses their lines either.

"Bendy".... eeee ah hello the jossness, plus who doesn't love talk of donuts...mmm. Like the look of this clip, the lighting and colours in it just makes me even more excited, the potential dark and twistyness of the show and what might/will be explored eeeeep. Also the trailer having a few lighter scenes and warmer colours as well makes me think again of how wide a spectrum the show can cover.
I've always thought Joss shows were like a *heart-hug* or something, like a big 'ol hug of great acting/writing etc that radiates through viewers from the inside out with their jossy awesomeness, anyway this is making me think *brain-hug*. Okay I do believe I've gone to that wierd place......no idea what I came here to say but Yay for all the Dollhouse news can't wait till January.

Well, from what I can tell (based on costuming), this scene appears to be connected to the "I'm not nobody" part of the trailer. I'm gonna guess that "I'm not nobody" comes after this scene.
As far as what all that means...who knows?

Gotcha beat; I loaded Zeitgeist's mp4 version (thanks, Zeitgeist!) on my iPod. Now I can, and will, watch it any time I want!

Cannot see this happeneing this early in the show. From what I've heard so far she "Gradually" becomes aware, so I would imaging many episodes of her just getting the odd feeling that something is wrong, bits of deja vu and so on. Cant see her getting to the "Running around looking for her sister" stage in episode 1.

I'm subscribing to jobo's theory: that Echo was programmed (and dressed) to get the Fed to stop looking for the 'Dollhouse', there is nothing like a little cleavage to distract a Government investigator I'm guessing. This all looks very interesting to me, and I'm confident that I'm going to love it.
