Joss and Eliza talk Dollhouse. In a one-minute YouTube video from FOX.

"Who do you want me to be?"
That's adorable. I am tuning my radio dial.
...Interesting tagline.
Looks like we be in store for some funnin'!
Cute! Haha. It's funny how this makes me more excited than the action-y preview. Actually "seeing" Joss talk about it makes it more real for me somehow.
Oh so cute! How am I ever going to wait until January?!?!?
Gosh, they are so cute and funny together.
IDK, I'm just like... whatever about this show. I wish that Tru Calling would come back on the air. and Firefly. I WANT MORE FIREFLY!
Okay, that was cute and cool.

It's great when people love what they do, because there's lots of stuff on TV and elsewhere where its clear people are just collecting pay cheques.
Oh, it just occured to me that my anticipation for DOLLHOUSE reached a pretty creepy level. Yes, that's how much I am looking forward to it. I hope I won't die an unexpected death before the show premieres. :(
Aww, those wacky funsters ;).

Great, good idea Joss/Eliza, drum up even more anticipation why don't you ? After all I was only nearly exploding with it before. Just brilliant. No really, cheers, good job ... *mutters, grumbles*.

;-)
Good premise, excellent main actress, god of a writer.

Hey, the possibilities are Jossless!
Can I say "cute" again? I cannot think of a more appropriate word, so I'll just be derivative.

I just hope we get more of these little commercials during the next seven months to keep us salivating for more. More Joss! More Eliza! More Joss & Eliza together!
I WANT MORE FIREFLY!

Eight comments in. That didn't take long. Might be a new record.
I will stay with Eliza's voice -"Who do you want me to be?" In my head for a week, at least.
I loved seeing the rapport that Joss and Eliza have. It really is, for lack of a better word, cute. I noticed, though, that most of the clips of Echo (besides when she was being imprinted/wiped) were of her kicking ass. Kind of funny, since she was talking about a side of her that most viewers haven't seen, apparently. And I don't think it's ass kicking.

I would love to see her in a chick fight with Joss. Cameo, anyone?

Love the tagline.

I expected to see complaints about Angel not being mentioned first. But I am often so very wrong about these things.

You should try posting it in the extended detail field next time, b!X... or we could just add it as a default tag ;)

Why do you have to hate on Spike all of the time, Sunfire ;) ?
MORGAN FREEMAN!
BUFFY SEASON SIX!
JOEY AND RACHEL!

No, wait..
Spike had his own show? That's no joking matter. This is how fan hearts are broken, zeitgeist. By jokes about shows that coulda been.
Instead of using the word 'cute', I'm going with 'schmoopy'. They are so schmoopy together. Man, January can't get here soon enough!
Speaking of Spike, I was playing at FreeRice to kill time and be productive, and one of the words was "fulgent."
Words I've learned thanks to Joss: effulgent, sanguine, Shawarma, and that the opposite of "pointless" is "pointy."

Back on topic: Eliza is fulgent.

Scaniano, "schmoopy" reminds me too much of "floopy," which is what a flibbertigibbet is. It's like schmaltzy and floopy, which is just a flibbertigibbet who is all fur coat and no knickers.

...But that's just me.
I think I count 5 cutes and only 1 adorable, so I'm going back to adorable.
Adorable!
"Who do you want me to be?"
Great tagline!
It reminds me of that Microsoft tagline "where do you want to go today?" But lovely video. I'm dying to read the inevitable interview where a journalist asks Joss what's it like being back in the driver's seat.
Y'know, watching this I'm suddenly struck by the notion that Eliza would make a pretty good Wonder Woman. ;-)
Haunt - Did Freeman drop out? (Morgan, not Gordon...)
That hurts, Haunt. Almost as much as thinking about how kickass she woulda been in Season 2 of Firefly. River encounters another escapee!
I kind of wish that they would stop saying that the premise of the show is to showcase Eliza's talent. Okay, maybe what they are saying could be interpreted another way, but all I hear is, "Look at how good she can act being all these different people!!!" I don't want to see a show to see how good she can act. I want to see a show with interesting character development and engaging plots. And certainly I want to see a show featuring Echo, and not the actress playing her. Which I'm sure is what Joss and Eliza will deliver. Never a doubt in my mind. Thus why I wish they would stop mentioning the thing I mentioned.
Awwww that was cuddly and cute!

but they didn't say 'Angel'.
I don't want to see a show to see how good she can act. I want to see a show with interesting character development and engaging plots.

You're totally right! What? No. I believe I ordered my cake and eating it too, which requires that they sell other aspects of the show as the spoonful of sugar to go with the medicine of character development and plot.
I'm dying to read the inevitable interview where a journalist asks Joss what's it like being back in the driver's seat.

"So Joss, now that you're back in the driver's seat, I have to ask: Why do you write such strong female characters?"
b!x, and then we can ask Salman Rushdie, "how autobiographical is your work?"

Though I am most excited for new plots, characters, and moral grayness, I must say that I love being able to see my favorite actors show their chops. So yes, Eliza's acting will be part of the fun.

Sunfire: That hurts, Haunt. Almost as much as thinking about how kickass she woulda been in Season 2 of Firefly. River encounters another escapee!
*Whimpers* I'm going to go cower in my room now.
Aw, the way Joss and Eliza interact is why I love all shows Whedon. There's a sense of respect and cheekiness and camaraderie. Of having a laugh, sharing a joke, being part of something fun and exciting. Much like Whedonesque really.
"Who do you want me to be?" Just who you already are....

I think showcasing Eliza's range is a good way to explore Echo's character. When someone can adopt any accent/language/social class/personality/personal history -- as one kind of ideal actor can -- then who is that person really? What are the choices that make her who she is? Chameleon-like characters (I'm thinking of Richard III, for example, as someone who portrays himself as godly, romantic, loyal and sentimental -- then steps back and laughs at those who are fooled by the performances he takes such pride and pleasure in) lead you to contemplate the nature of identity while being a blast to observe. Personality-as-performance (part of stagecraft-as-statecraft for kings, queens and courtiers) were big Elizabethan themes, so the Strawberry Blonde Shakespeare Fan may find them intriguing. I sure do. So you can have your performance cake and eat your five daily servings of character.
BTW, does anyone know if Joss is going to reestablish his "Mutant Enemy" co. for "Dollhouse"?

I kinda' miss our little demon:)
Yes, Pointy, and seasons and seasons of plays within the play(s), which do their thing of further illuminating the larger, uh, play. This is what I hope for and, really, what more could a character-driven-story lover want?
It reminds me of that Microsoft tagline "where do you want to go today?"

I thought it was "Microsoft: What do you want to re-install today?"

They've only just finished shooting the first episode, we've got another seven months to go, how on earth can they keep this level of promotion and excitement going?
*shakes fist at Pointy*

You have fooled no one today, person you are.

Personally, I believe that this encounter with Joss & Eliza would earn them a 15-minute comedy spot where they would sit on the couch and shoot the shit breeze. I'd watch that chemistry. Anyone else?
I think that "this is going to be the most fascinating television in the history of radio" is my new favorite Joss quote.

Also Eliza-as-Joss's "I'm pretty good."

And yes, that's a great tagline.
zz9, you lost me there. Where did microsoft become involved? I know, I must of been napping and missed a thread somewhere.
MH, ME is definitely involved, and I'm pretty sure it is in fact a joint 20th/ME production. Unless I'm wrong.
It's like Joss said: "you can't spell ME without me"...or something to that effect. I would cry if I didn't get the "grrr...aargh" at the end of every show!

I'm with korkster on the Joss and Eliza comedy thing. I'd definitely just watch them have a normal conversation. But god, wouldn't they be great playing a married couple? I can imagine the witty banter they'd have about, say, the grocery list. Except Eliza would always win, since she's gonna kick Joss's ass.
Mutant Enemy is doing it, along with Eliza's Boston Diva Productions.

If I weren't already in love with Joss and Eliza, this clip would do it.
Madhatter, Simon mentioned Microsoft's tagline. I just mentioned my snarky version.

So if we get ME's "Grr, Aarg" then what will Boston Diva have?
Knowing there will be "grrr, aarrg" makes me giddy. ;) and the vid is just too adorable.
Ah, I figured out why I thought it was just 20th/ME -- the Fox Dollhouse page doesn't show Boston Diva at all.
When I see Joss and Eliza goofing around, I keep thinking about the Mayor-Faith relationship.

But without the school-sized snake/psychopathic killer vibe.

I'm waiting for "Are you saying Ben is connected to Glory?"
Why, are you saying Ben is connected to Glory ?
I don't know if I got a Microsoft feel with the whole "Who do you want me to be?".

I get more of a Faith-y vibe from Season 5: "So... how do you want me?" (with Riley).

And, are you saying that Ben had something to do with Glory's evil scheme of not mentioning Angel and cancelling Firefly? Does that Mean BtVS is evil via self-promotion and non-support of other Whedon-like products? Or, is it just evil to "wrong-doers", which in case, would make it good?

My, have we lost our minds. *whistles*
So Ben... is connected to Glory? That doesn't make any sense. Why would she need a doctor? She's a god.
Now seems that Bill Gates is connected (till some bug drop the connection) to Glory.

Edit cause my brain capacities desapear in English language.

So we've gone from 'Who are you?','What's my line?' and 'Are you now or have you ever been?'
to
'Who do you want me to be today?'

That Joss guy sure does ask a lot of questions!

Hopefully, Echo will get the answer to 'Who am I?' by the end of it all.

And by the end I mean many, many years from, now.
Wait, Ben is Glory? I don't get it.
Honestly I find the tagline slightly unsettling. I don't quite know why.
