Chiwetel Ejiofor on directing his first film 'Slapper'. Fab article over at The Guardian website.

If you buy today's paper, there's a lovely photo of him directing Bill Nighy.

Wow, I was not expecting that. But I have complete faith, even if he's just half as good directing as he is acting, it will be a brilliant film. Can't wait.
Good catch Simon, nice little piece.

(here's a snippet from the festival website with a few more details - scroll about 3/4 of the way down)
Our Operative continually impresses me - I recently saw both Children of Men and Inside Man, and he gave strong performances in both, playing completely different kinds of roles. What I like best about this piece in the Guardian is how he's both transparent and intelligent in his writing, letting us see inside his thought process while taking this leap into directing. He's definitely an actor - and perhaps a director - I will enjoy watching in whatever he does.
