Angel Lightning deal at Amazon. Yesterday's was Buffy, today it looks like Angel will sold as the 10:00 AM PDT lightning deal on Amazon.com.

to bad, i already have all the series. wish they would just sell the empty box to me lol
Not a bad discount, 41 dollars off. Won't be there in another hour or two, though.
I bought all the DVD sets right before the box set was announced and I was bummed I had such bad timing. I think this price is good enough to buy it all over again.
Woo Hoo! I've been meaning to get Angle on DVD! ThankyouThankyouThankyou for putting this link up.

:D
That price was to good for me to pass up. Time to sell the individual seasons on eBay. I did the same with Buffy just as a space saver.
Damn. I'd snag this if I hadn't bought two domains last night and need to buy a lens before Comic-Con.
Thirty minutes into the sale, 75% of available stock had been claimed.

Hmm, now it's 78%.

The sale's supposed to go for four hours, but it doesn't look like it will last 45 minutes until they run out of stock.

(And it went up to 81% sold out in the time it took me to post)

85%

Just sayin'.
After Buffy's 3 min sellout yesterday, I'm starting to see that Buffy fans didn't necessarily flock to the spin-off.
Do we know the quantities of botht hat were available? I think that judging anything about the popularity of shows without complete info is wild speculation at best.
I got the last one!

Yes, a fact I've long lamented. I consider Angel to be the better series (but then most think all my taste is in my mouth) and it's always frustrated me that it gets thrown to the bottom of most fans lists. *shrug*
I think I managed to get in there (98% gone). My order says it went through, so fingers crossed! I was going to buy all the seasons separately since they seem to be on sale right now - but this was too good of a deal to pass up! Even though I had to pay for shipping (since I live outside of the USA).

It's not just this sale. It's been most Buffy/Angel links, including Whedonesque. The Buffy ones seem to get more comments than Angel. Even the comics, the "Season 8" comic seems to sell better than "After the Fall". There are a couple more instances I've noticed too, but I could be wrong. Just an observation.
Interestingly, there are also people who love Angel and roll their eyes at Buffy, though its probably true that Buffy is more popular/known.
Well, personally, I'm not really feeling the Angel comics. I'm still reading them, but I'm not really going to comment about them. That doesn't reflect how I feel about the show itself though.

Anyway, I think there have been more deals for this Angel set than for the Chosen Collection, so that could be part of it. And as zeitgeist said, they didn't tell us how many of each quantity was up for sale.

Too much Angel. I can only stand him in small doses. I know many of you love him, so don't hurt me, but he's kind of like my Andrew.
I agree Haunt, I always thought Angel was the better series. I mean as much as I love BTVS, I though Angel had more depth.
Darn, I'm too late! Not that I needed it, I have all the seasons (and incidentally am just finishing up a rewatch of them) but at that price it was too good to pass up.

Congrats palehorse! (grumble grumble :)

Oh, and I'm another Angel lover, and would put it over Buffy as a favorite, but very, very close.
I love all the shows equally. Well, Firefly might be the closest to my heart, but just by a bare smidgen. It's the only one I own on DVD, but that is because I'm poor and at half a season the only one I could afford. Wish I could have grabbed up these deals, but I won't be seeing the money from my new job for a couple of weeks.
Best thing about the Angel Box Set (aside from the show itself of course)? The letter to the fans that Joss included with it. :)

I like Angel and I love Andrew, so I'm having trouble translating your comment into a language that I understand, Sunfire ;).
Angel is my [character you'd rather see removed from most scenes in which they appear but is beloved by some people so just don't mention it look out they have tomatoes run away!]
I think I might have started out liking both shows equally, but that kind of changed over time. What really did it was watching reruns on TNT. It came on before I had to go to class in the morning, so I guess I kind of bonded with it a little more than Buffy.
Ah, Sunfire, I get it. Angel is your Riley! (although... could one describe Riley as being beloved by some people? *runs and hides*). Or to stretch it further: he's your cast-of-Sex-And-The-City-(minus-the-cute-but-annoying-girl-whose-name-I-can't-remember-because-I-haven't-watched-the-show-in-ages-since-I-can't-stand-most-of-the-characters-(minus-the-cute-but-annoying-girl-whose-n..) etc.) ;)

ETA: making a bad recursion joke is bad enough, but making a wrong bad recursion joke is worse. Fixed that. I hope.

I understand, Sunfire. Buffy Summers is that character for me. :P
I'm always up for bad recursion humor (if we had an index file we could look it up in the index file under index file...). Some people (notably Simon) are rather fond of Riley.

GVH - which is the cute but annoying one?

Haunt - bwahaha!
zeitgeist: that's the brunette. Is her name Charlotte? Like I said, I haven't watched in ages (the only time I see SATC is when female friends make me watch it at their place ;))
Yeah, Charlotte :) Personally, I was hoping that Steve would toss Miranda in the river at some point during the movie. Just me?
Angel > Buffy.

Also, I agree Zeitgeist.
Note to self: set better example for staying on topic :) I actually liked Angel better for a while, but I kinda bounce around as to which Joss show I like best at any given time. I thought that it hit the ground running a little better (to be expected), though it ended up changing the rules for where it was going and what it was several times. The core themes always stayed the same and made a big impression on me and where I was at the time. Really, though, its a crap shoot if you ask me which is my fave.
Say what we will, both leads did have fantastic hair and a lot of angst.
Buffy just couldn't compete in the forehead stakes though. And Angel's hair did go straight up, that has to count for bonus points. Course, then Buffy could play her "crinkly cave-girl hair" trump card. I dunno, it's closer than it looks but in the end, after much deliberation, I have to give it as a draw.

The shows were pretty good too.
You think more forehead is a plus? I wonder how it affects the Nielsen ratings. There should be a study. Did Angel ever run up against 3rd Rock?
Well, I was able to get one of the ets.. unfortunately, it went to an addres that is not my address, in a town that I'm pretty sure doesn't exist. If there's anyone here from a Saint John, California, please feel free to tell me otherwise!
