"Chosen" analysis, goofs and nitpicks. Insightful nitpicks at tvtome

Did Joss really take the 'Oh My Goodess' line from Charmed? TV Tome has the tendency to over embelish (they had a wrong episode title for Angel S5 premiere up over a month ago) so I am going to have to take that one with a grain (a large one) of salt.
Well, as a person with lots o' Pagan and Witchy friends, I know many people who substitiute "Oh My Goddess" for "Oh My God," and a number of them have never seen a single episode of "Charmed." I highly doubt the line had anything to do with that show.
OMGoddess is frequently heard round this Pagan household, along with Goddess Above, Ay Diosa, and oy vey.
'Oh My Goddess' is also a Japanese manga (comic) and anime (cartoon). It's been around since before Buffy or Charmed even debuted.

Cute recap. Strange how the nitpicks seems to be written by several people responding to one another. Also, no mention of the dreaded "shanshu" in relation to Spike's dream.
It was also a line in the Tara/Willow comic, WannaBlessedBe.
wren, I thought it was "Ah! My Goddess"?
I do remember Joss saying that he took the line from the Charmed episode. It was straight out of his mouth, in an interview that was linked to here, but I can't find it at the moment.
Wife and I have just watched Chosen again...regarding one of the nitpicks, as everyone enters the school, Spike is unseen, because his coat is completely over his head and his arms are covered...so, the gentleman was not for burning there, despite tvtome's assertion.

Have I just become a full-fledged geek?...so be it...

It is an astonishingly brilliant ending to an astonishingly brilliant creation.
Who the heck decided to put Anya and Andrew, the two worst fighters in the entire group, together and off on their own?

Good nitpick. Did anyone not notice the stupidity of that? When I watched, I just assumed it was a ploy to insert some more drama and maybe kill a character. I was right!
well this site kindof tried to answer that by saying that Giles and Wood were sent to where the most Ubervamps go (since they are the strongest warriors out of the regular humans), and Buffy won't trust anyone other than Xander with Dawn.
As for A & A, sucked to be them. :)

and we saw also that anya can handle a sword pretty well in "selfless".
Anya could only handle herself well when she's a demon-wielding sword-murdering crazy person. When she's just a crazy little human who's nine hundred years older than she's supposed to be, well she wasn't much more special than Andrew with a sword.

I think from a writing standpoint it boiled down to a combination of which characters/talent would look good together in the showdown. And of course which of the six in question had the highest chance of getting killed. Strangely I read elsewhere on the Internet recently what appears to have been an older draft of the season finale script. Not sure how authentic it was, but allegedly Xander was going to be the one who died, while saving Dawn, and both Andrew and Anya were gonna survive. Oh, and Dawn at one point in this alternate version realized that like Spike she was a soul who was something more than human, so she attempted to steal Spike's thunder by getting the amulet from him and sacrificing herself cuz she didn't want her sister to lose Spike. Weird.

Come to think of it, that was just a weird read all around. It's still with me after I read it, like an All You Can Eat buffet when you had so much you can't get up. *burp* Excuse me.
ZachsMind - That script was confirmed as FanFic posing as the final epiosde.
Maybe that's why it read weird. Although I liked the idea of Dawnie growing a pair, it wasn't in keeping with how they'd utilized her in the past. Didn't sound like the M.E. voice, but it was some endearing wishful thinking in some places.
