I guess it's just me. I enjoy each issue well enough, but when I think about the whole arc (which I do at times like this) I just get the feeling of a whole long process of not-going anywhere.

Myself, I think the story arcs (short and long) are going lots of interesting places, both terms of events (battle with the lords, Angel and Gunn meeting, how will the Fang Gang get out of hell) and character development (Angel dealing with being human, forgiving himself, and accepting his own limitations, for example.) Not to bash anyone else for thinking differently, just want to add my own take.

Also, the art looks awesome!

With you on that one, fiatlux. To be honest, the story of Angel during the TV series didn't move "normal paced" as the rest of television did. But, we're also dealing with an immortal. I think Brian has done a fine job at excelling the story and fleshing out our favorite side-kicks. A lot happens in every issue.

Brian, I love you dude, but the "Eeyore" comment was a little pushed.

DaddyCatALSO, if you feel that way about the story, I'd like to know why. And, compared to the TV series, do you feel that the TV moved faster than the comics? To me, the comics move faster than the TV series. Angel always had a problem with moving from A to B. But, he's old... it may take longer to figure out the path. Poor guy.

Brian: I thought that was kind of clever actually, Touche`. (Actually, outside of things Joss-related, I tend to always look on the bright side; it's a usefult laent when you're 52 years old and still live in an $80 a week room *grin. I plan to keep readin'!)

korkster (thanks for the defense chief!) fiatlux: I'm not really comparing it to the series, because that is really a rather vague memory. I haven't seen many episodes more than once, often out of order, and haven't seen a full episode in almost 6 years. So, I'm apples-and-oranges-ing to That OTher COmic Book I'm Following.
It's mainly that I'm still a bit confused as to the intentions of our heroes, which admittedly are currently perfoce concentrated on survival rather than strategy, so I'm perhaps being unfair. Plus I'm still abit shell-shocky over what Gunn did to the concubines after killign the demon lord, and so my mood goes "off" whenever I open an issue. Plus I have a lot of trouble facially identifying the characters so I often don't know who's doing what I'm seeing. So, no matter how much I'm liking the story, I'm asking "Whozis?" at the same time.

I should see it as a challenge I guess.

Love this artwork. Wesley REALLY looks like Wesley there, which is nice, considering he is my favorite character. I was worried for a while that he would be reduced to a an opaque set of glasses for the whole series.
