Neil Patrick Harris directs show in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. "The Expert at the Card Table" starring Guy Hollingworth, one of the best magicians around today.

Neil's had an interest in magic for a long time, so his collaboration here with Guy Hollingworth is not surprising. About 26 mins into the audio clip is an interview with Hollingworth. ~30 in, they talk about how he and Neil got together for this production.

Details for the show here.

I had heard that NPH has recently joined the board for 'The Magic Castle' in LA (a venue for a lot of magicians to perform, and a very fun evening if you can go). So obviously NPH's interest in magic and magicians is getting stronger.
He's been pretty strongly involved in magic for a while. A few years ago he and Jonathan Levitt, another actor/magician, performed in a recreation of a 19th century illusion at the Los Angeles Conference on Magic History. Neil played a mad doctor (how appropriate...) who quite visibly chopped off Jonathan's appendages. Here's a description of the act from Teller (of Penn & Teller): Palingensia.

And, of course, there's all the magic references from Barney on HIMYM. You can even see, when they show Barney's apartment, that there's some old-style magic posters in the background.
