Browncoats push for a hardburn record breaking vote. Firefly fans are voting TODAY at Rich Labonte's TV Vote in an effort to garner a record amount of votes in one day.

They are also voting for Angel and Buffy. A good way for fans of the Joss 'verse to make a show of solidarity.

I've tweaked your entry to make it a little more readable for our RSS subscribers.
Did my part, all three Whedon shows, and one for X-Files, too. :)
Thanks Simon! I'm a bit stoneage with the posts...
Why what, Tamara C?
So is this which show would win in a fight? ;)
I can't speak for TamaraC, but everytime a plug for this shows up on one of my Browncoat listserves, I wonder why we should care about some random internet poll that seems to exist for no other reason than to generate page views for the website owner.

Spam! Spam! Spam! Spam! Lovely Spam! Lovely Spam!

Who is Rich Labonte?
Cast my ballot for the Whedonverse, but Star Trek: Deep Space Nine would totally win in a fight.
I just hate these completely mindless polls that no one with any decision making power actually cares about. All is does is create traffic for those sites. And I have already wasted way too much time on this ridiculous and pointless issue.
I'm pondering putting up a poll asking how many people would vote in a hypothetical poll if that hypothetical poll were to include Firefly in some fashion.
I'm pondering putting up a poll asking how many people would vote in a hypothetical poll if that hypothetical poll were to include Firefly in some fashion.

Well, I might!
I would also add that I question whether this is "newsworthy" enough for the front page of Whedonesque.com. This is not some fandom-wide campaign, but rather a plea to vote for in this poll by a single guy who spams both the SF Browncoat and SoCal Browncoat listserves every few weeks with the exact same pleas. I've made my peace with having to live with it on the listserves, but the idea of getting to "enjoy" the same spam now on Whedonesque any time Raycheetah comes up with a new angle on why we need to vote in that never-ending poll is annoying.
Geez, lighten up! Polls get posted here all the time. Some like 'em, some don't. If you don't, don't bother to post or waste your time.
Oy. BrewBunny really? That's just incredibly lame.
Yep. You can go to the both of the post archives for either of those listserves on Yahoo! to find both Raycheetah's posts every few weeks and the occasional "why?" response from the peanut gallery (including one recent one from me). I get that some people find polls fun and don't dispute that if there is one that might arguably have some actual relevance, such as a SciFi.com or Entertainment Weekly poll, it's not out of line to link to here. But in this case we're talking about (1) a poll that literally never ends, and (2) serves no apparent purpose other than to generate page views. IMO, Raycheetah's *repetitive* pleas to get people onto the Rich La Bonte's TV Vote site are spam and ought not be afforded the sort of site traffic that we all know Whedonesque.com can generate.

But that's just my opinion, and now having laid out the facts, I'll shut up and be on my merry.
The OB gets spammed with this ridiculous crap on a daily basis.
I likes getting the facts - thanks, BrewBunny.

The Neverending Poll - seems like a good idea for a horror flick.
whether this is "newsworthy" enough for the front page of Whedonesque.com

Is there a "page 4" of Whedonesque?
Is there a "page 4" of Whedonesque?

Sure. ;)
I agree with everything negative that's been said about this. Do not like.
BrewBunny, that's the same guy who spams the BuffySeattle list. I completely agree with your comments. It's very annoying.
I feel these polls do serve a purpose as they gauge the strength of interest in our various genere series. You know, the internet has become a popular source of information gathering lately.

As for what's deemed to be on our front page, we do not decide that, nor should we. Caroline has the right people in place to make those judgments.
I feel these polls do serve a purpose...

Random polls by no one in any particular position of influence or readership, polls that are open-ended and on-going and so never have any actual results -- these serve a purpose?

Caroline has the right people in place to make those judgments.

That hardly means we can't have an opinion on the matter. They're moderators, not kings.

ETA that I don't really care whether the poll was posted here specifically, so my beef isn't on that issue. My beef is with the poll itself and the attention it gets in general and the way in which it gets attention.

Nothing linked here is ever beyond the reach of criticism, so it truly escapes me why criticism of this link is being met with such questioning.

Well, what a sour page this turned out to be. I'm taking my Madhatter and getting out! :P
Well, rather than be characterized as a sourpuss (or in my case, a BitterBunny), I'll hijack Whedonesque for the purpose of generating site traffic to another website where people addicted to mouseclicks can get their fix AND earn money to pay for rice for the UN's World Food Program: FreeRice.com

BrewBunny, you're awesome.
Thank you, zillah. :-)
Ooh, I love FreeRice.com. Very addicting.
OOo. I love FreeRice.com! Thanks for the reminder. :D
I think you were the one who pointed me to it in the first place, NYP, so thank you! :-)
lexigeek got me hooked on freerice, and I curse his name as I compulsively play it.

It uses popinjay, and now I never confuse it with hoarfrost.
BrewBunny, thanks for that link. Now that was a wonderful waste of my time with vocabulary words. Fun!
I'm up to 1500 grains and vocab level 46.
Thanks for the new obsession, BB. (3200, L47)
3020, but stuck still at vocab level 46.
That rusty old high school Latin comes in handy once in a while. Now if only I could remember where I parked my car when I leave a store.
Uh-oh, I see this becoming a new obsession too. Thanks, I think! (At least it's educational....)

On topic: Yes, said individual regularly (daily) spams our website as well with lengthy reports on the day's stats and his need for us to improve them. I don't know what the point is.
Well, a lot of Browncoats have spent a lot of time voting in the poll, which has been running for seven years, and it is supposed to end in a few weeks. It may not be everybody's cup of tea, but it has been a part of the fandom for many. So I'm willing to cut some slack.

As for this Free Rice site, are we sure it isn't designed to get some deathrow murderer released, like that sneaky Free Hat campaign did a few years ago? Just asking.

Dude, that was an episode of South Park.
AlanD, Don't know anything about that Free Hat campaign, but FreeRice.com has been covered by both the Washington Post and the BBC, was Yahoo!'s Charity Find of the Year, and is even promoted by the UN World Food Program itself, so there's a good chance that it's been vetted by at least one person.

I am glad to hear though that the seemingly never-ending poll will at last be coming to a close. Good luck to those who have been playing along.
Don't know anything about that Free Hat campaign...

Because it was an episode of South Park.
Speaking of polls that have any kind of relationship to Serenifly, there's a vote going on over at Go Fug Yourself some might be interested in.

Fug or Fab: Sarah Paulson

You all may remember Sarah as the scientist whose hologram got eaten by Reavers on Miranda.

Thanks for the Free Rice link, Brew Bunny. I got up to 3,000 and Level 47 before I decided I needed to quit and go home!

I did vote in this poll today a couple of times because I'm hoping that will make it end faster! Whenever this gets posted on the Canadian Browncoats site, I usually just delete it without opening.
"You all may remember Sarah as the scientist whose hologram got eaten by Reavers on Miranda."

And of course, Miss Isringhausen on Deadwood.

;)
And Harriet on Studio 60 on Sunset Strip!
Dolphin Girl! (I seriously wanted to see that sketch....)
