Nathan and Alan at Edmonton Fringe Festival. Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk are participating in a nightly improv show at Edmonton's Fringe Festival.

Sunday night Nathan Fillion made a surprise appearance in the improve show “Die-Nasty” at the Edmonton Fringe Festival. The following morning Mark Meers, one of the Die-Nasty regulars, circulated an e-mail informing everyone who hadn’t attended that they had missed out but not to “despair – [it's] sure to be followed up with more hilarity from Nathan (and other potential special guests!) in the coming days.” Monday night Nathan was back again, and this time so was Alan Tudyk! No comment was made as to whether either would continue to appear throughout the remainder of the Fringe.

Die-Nasty bills itself as an “improvised soap opera”, with each actor portraying a different character. The director announces the location of the scene and the actors participating, and then the hilarity begins. Nathan used to perform with the troupe on a regular basis when he lived in Edmonton, and has returned to participate in the show at least once before, during the 2006 Fringe. Die-Nasty runs at the Fringe every night at 11:30 through August 23.

There is no link here.
Sorry, I didn't initially include a link as there is no story online to link to. I've now added a link to the Edmonton Fringe homepage, which includes the show schedule but doesn't have anything specifically about Nathan or Alan.
CFRN just did an interview with Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk from last night. Nathan says he may try to appear again tonight and Wednesday.

I hope Mr. Tudyk has a nice visit to Edmonton, and Mr. Fillion has a great visit home.

Damn it! I miss everything.
One more reason to hate getting back home from a year in Vancouver the day after the fringe ends.

ETA: Actually, the only reason. I'm very happy to be going back to Edmonton after being stuck in rain-land.

I was lucky enough to be there both Sunday night, when it was just Nathan performing, with Alan in the audience, and then last night when they were both on stage. Getting to see them was awesome. They had special t-shirts made for the show last night -- Nathan wore one that said "Head Security" and Alan wore one that said, "ass Head Security." It was a pretty fun night -- I'd be ever so thrilled if they came back again.
Swiminstructorguy, for future reference: the flow on Whedonesque is 'have link' -> 'post story'. Otherwise we end up with everybody using the site as their personal blog.
