Joss' House for Sale, Amy Acker Copyrighted Magazine Scans. Please take a moment before posting to peruse the site rules and the Deleted Posts blog.

Among other things you will find Joss' house listing (six times) and links to scans from copyrighted magazines (4 so far of the Amy Acker/Claire Saunders First Look), neither of which are acceptable front page material here at Whedonesque.

Also not acceptable front page material: That picture of me from several years ago, drunk, in a red scarf, sunglasses, and blonde wig, sticking my head through the missing screen section of a screen door.
Aw, why, bix? I'm sure it's totally a-door-knob-able.
The worst part is you can't see the micro mini he's wearing. Er, did I say worst or best?
Maybe you should make a little Illegal Content icon and a little We Love, But Not Too Much icon. Or some other non-inflammatory ways of saying no steal, no stalk.
no steal, no stalk

That seems nicely non-inflammatory right there.
Would a link to an io9 article where they have the photo of Amy Acker/Claire Saunders be acceptable?
I had a comment here but then I saw "Board rules, policy and implementation will not be discussed on site", so, deleted.

(was a reply to willbueche's deleted comment) True, but if you look at some of the reasons given on the deleted posts page, it's pointed out that you could theoretically figure out Joss's house's address from the information given... you can't stalk anybody from the news that they got married/had a baby/had a birthday...

willbueche, going by one of the discussions here I think the first time it was posted, it seemed like more of an unsettling feeling over having it here, leading to a moderator(s) judgement call.
I have email addresses and home addresses for some people whose addresses are not public knowledge and would never dream of posting them here. While the article in question doesn't give you Joss' address, it gives you all of the information that you need to find it in under 2 minutes if you know anything about the web. For any deletes not covered by a rule that is expressed in the rules section, the deleted blog will explain why after which it falls under "The admins' word is law.", although as you say, will, the house link has very little to do with his work.

After the first deletion, if you've done your proper pre-post checklist, you have no (at least not a good one) excuse for posting something that's been trashed already.

Derf - If io9's picture appears to be a legitimately obtained picture, fine, if its the magazine scan, then no.
Plus the "Why was my post deleted?" blog is becoming an amusing read in and of itself.
I am a fan of "Why was my post deleted?". I said to Simon the other day, if Joss started a blog it would have a title along those lines. (I'm secretly hoping for "Joss on a blog on the interwebs dot com" still.)

Dangit, now you've got me all curious about Joss' house listing. (grin)

Since his wife is an architect, and I'm an architect... I'd like to see it just to see what she might have done with the place. It also would be cool to see the sound studio and wonder what might have been created there. (After B3 we got to see photos of Greg Edmonson's home studio that were posted.)

But of course, I understand why that kind of thread is not appropriate when stalkerazzi are about in the world...
I think Joss' blog title might be (and Simon, back me up on this) "I Forgot My Password".
i agree bix, it's become one of my must see sites every morning :)
Wait, so you're telling that Whedonesque isn't a real estate listings site? Gorramit.
Wait, people are deleting content about dollhouse, this means that it's been cancelled. Or someone has come around his house (possible Amy Acker) and stolen his ideas for scripts. COULD THIS BE THE END OF OF DOLLHOUSE?????

???

Yeah this is a useful facility. I would suggest you include it as a link at the top of the "new posts" page - if I'd noticed it in advance, I wouldn't have posted the Joss house thing the fourth time...
Is the Why this was deleted page, anywhere readily accessible?
It's been linked to on the sidebar on the front page for the last couple of weeks.
Its now a link at the top of the New Posts page as well, though its location within that page and its syntax are subject to change.
...it gives you all of the information that you need to find it in under 2 minutes if you know anything about the web.

Took me 3 minutes, dang I'm slow.
HAHA!!! SLOWY MC... oh ;) I blame your ISP!
I'm glad you said it, Succatash, and not me.... I really agree that things like homes for sales are off limits on a site like this, which is viewed by too many people. But of course the really annoying thing is that the press seems to think it is a story to begin with (of course if I had enough money I would totally want the house).
I can see how the house is a story in LA. But that's different from internet details.

ET be better on topic. Sorry, Caroline.

Let's not discuss the house in a thread that's about the material not being suitable, k?
I forgot to mention that in the previously-mentioned picture, which is unsuitable, I also have a glass in hand and a goatee.
Goatee's are bound to get back in swing one of these days, bix ;).

Also: I really like the 'why was my post deleted' blog. Although it's easier liking it if you're one of those 'take, take, take' and (almost) never give whedonesquers who just reply to everybody else's posts, like me ;).

Apart from the amusement factor, though, it's a really good addition to the site. I know I remember threads I'd posted on dissapearing in time away from the black, and it'd always be a disconcerting few moment before one realised 'ah, it's probably deleted'. Knowing for sure it was and why fills a gaping hole in our needy lives ;).
Derf - If io9's picture appears to be a legitimately obtained picture, fine, if its the magazine scan, then no.

I'm not sure. You can find the page here.
That's the scanned image from the article. It actually says so in the linked article, by the way. I doubt io9 paid to use it, as it mentions a fansite as its source.
Oooh, cool, I've never posted at exactly 00:00 CET before.

Yes, that's all ;). And yes, I could've done this as an ETA but I didn't want to mar the post :p
Derf - that is a scan from the magazine, yes. The band along the bottom of the image that io9 didn't clip is the address of the Amy Acker site that scanned it.
May I suggest adding the RSS feed to the "why deleted?" blog on the sidebar here - that way people can immediately see it?
I got deleted once. I was embarrassed.

I was excited cause Flashpoint got renewed and Tracy Forbes is a producer.

Kind of a peripheral thing.
Oh, I've been deleted so many times in the past two and a half, years they oughta have a deleted blog just for me.

I think it's like getting thrown overboard when you sail over the Equator. Um, or something like that. Ya know, rite of passage.
Thanks, QG. Actually makes me feel much better.
Ditto. I got deleted once, and quite rightly so.

I just realized what I just typed. I'm OK with being deleted. Do I still exist? :)
Not sure, but I think even Simon has been deleted.
So what did you guys see when you were deleted? Was there a light? A tunnel? Did it hurt to come back?
I think I've been deleted twice. It's kind of disconcerting, then I feel really guilty and apologetic. But I have, as we Americans say, "Issues."
Main Entry: Deleet
Pronunciation: De-leet
Function: transvestite verb
Inflected Form(s): de-leet-ed; de-leet-ing
Etymology: Internet Geek d31337, past participle of bling loss
Date: circa 13

1 : an external event causing loss of self aggrandizement

2 : the loss of one's gear, especially in MMORPGs

3 : the loss of something coveted and seemingly important but not; see 2 : above

4 : to revert to Latinate letters
Erase, erase, erase!
Oh wait! I'm more modern that...
Delete, delete, delete!

I gotta find this clip on Comedy Central!

EDIT: okay youtube 3:25

:) Well done, RhaegarTargaryen!
I think I've been deleted twice.

Isn't that one of Buffy's lyrics in OMWF?
jcs "So what did you guys see when you were deleted? Was there a light? A tunnel? Did it hurt to come back?"

I saw flames - lots and lots of flames, and big pair of burning eyes nothing. Just nothing. Darkness. There's something out there - in the dark - and it's moving.

Hee. I'm kidding. It was just like Disneyland, only fun.
I'm surprised no one's posted the requisite "You are not compatible. You will be deleted."
Really happy to see this blog up and running now. Also useful for those of us who are curious about why posts have been deleted, theirs or not.

Cheers guys.
Not sure, but I think even Simon has been deleted.

Often by myself.
jcs, there was the sound of a circuit breaker and then all of my old messages came back to greet me.

Lady Brick, some of are not only non-compatible. Over on the Dollhouse site, we are also not complete. It's the true state of existential angst.

It's only a rumor, but I've heard that after the first deletion, QuoterGal started having kung-fu fights with Australians in suits and dark shades. She would then fly away after stopping bullets with a wave of her hand.
That may have actually been before her first deletion ;).
Wait... So Nurses wasn't ok... But Buffy Animated was? Makes sense... Ehhh... Yeah...
Wait... So Nurses wasn't ok... But Buffy Animated was? Makes sense... Ehhh... Yeah.

Don't worry there was a dodge on a scan as well a few years back
Amazing. I work in corporate finance and unsurprisingly, my mood of late has been about as colorful as this site. And somehow all you clowns managed to make me giggle. :-)

I've said it before, but I really do like the thread graveyard. Maybe on Mexico's Day of the Dead coming up in a few weeks, the mods can put some flowers & sugar skulls at the top of the page.
Now, there's an idea whose time has come ;)! Any specific questions on why x was deleted and y wasn't, feel free to e-mail us to discuss offsite.
If that was a reference to Quotergirl being in the Mtrix, isn't Hugo Weaving a Kiwi? I know we like to claim them as our very own aussies (Just like Russell Crowe, although I'd personally just as rather nto claim him as an Aussie(
According to Imdb
"His father worked in the computer industry and moved around a lot. Hugo spent his childhood in South Africa and England before finally settling in Australia"
not that Imdb always gets it right but there is no mention of New Zeeland, he counts as one of yours alright.
Maybe I was thinking of Crowe.
You were probably thinking of the Kiwi actor Sam Neill (of The Tudors, among much else) who always reminds me of Hugo Weaving.

And I just love, love, love the deleted posts blog.
Simon's justification for one deletion being that "We're not one for the T & A" absolutely had me in stitches!
Let's not discuss the house in a thread that's about the material not being suitable, k?

Agree totally on that, but there should probably be a direct link to a discussion thread on the white.
It would seem kind of silly to say "we don't feel comfortable discussing the issue, so go to this handy hyperlink to discuss it". I mean, if there's discomfort talking about it, there'd be discomfort linking to a place to talk about it.
Ivalaine: "If that was a reference to Quotergirl being in the Mtrix..."

Not to be too fussy and stuff about my name, but if that was a reference to moi, the name is "QuoterGal - but you can call me "QG" like everyone else if it's easier.
I mean, if there's discomfort talking about it, there'd be discomfort linking to a place to talk about it.

Do you mind ? You talking about discomfort linking to a place talking about it is making me uncomfortable. In fact, I wish I hadn't said that now, i've unsettled myself.
