Browncoats Ball 2009: A promotional mini-comic for Portland. It's drawn by David Stroup and it's a lot of fun to read. There's five pages in all so click "next" to see them all.

Thanks for posting this Simon!

This comic was drawn as part of Portland's proposal to host the traveling Browncoat Ball. The fabulous David Stroup has a comic of his own that you must check out (Yossarian), and he is a contributor to Serenity Tales.

More info will be coming as soon as possible about the 2009 Portland Browncoat Ball!

Is the ball going to actually be in Portland next year? Or has that been decided? I might go if it is in PDX.
Oh, you bet it's in Portland. And the PDX Browncoats have put together a pretty awesome group of folk to organize it. Much to do, much to do!!
Cool. I have many friends and family in the Rose City that are constantly complaining that I don't come to visit. Sounds like a good excuse.
Wait, what the what now? b!X, gossi & I get pseudonymously nominated as potential nemesiseseses?

We're Kuh-ooh-dah? Am I horrible or evil? They can be horrible if they want, but I prefer the evil - it's more slimming.

But b!X has got the porkpie hat...
...which apparently gives one hands of blue. Scary.

Not evil, just, you know ... well, okay, evil.

But in a good way. ;)

No. I have a porkpie, but that guy is wearing Badger's bowler.
Oh, sorry (I'm not a hat connoisseur). In that case you're not evil. Phew?
I think I'll leave the determination of my evilness or lack thereof to others.
very cool. sigh, not sure the wallet will allow portland, but i can dream....
Tamara C-
That would be great if you can make it! Maybe we can bring some old friends from the OB
Well it certainly sounds like the Portland Browncoats have put together an awesome event... are there actual dates for it yet?
So who was the guy with the bowler and hands of blue supposed to be?
Yay! I think I could drive from Seattle, no problem. Sounds like a blast!
So what's the date(s)?
Sorry, didn't post the dates! Silly me.

Official dates for the 2009 Portland Browncoat Ball are Oct 2-4, 2009.

Hope to see all you fine folks there!
Oooh! By then I might actually have enough money to go. Portland ain't far.
Portland is definitely out for me (grumble grumble), but I hope everyone has a good time.
Slightly Off topic, but I think we should start having more events in the Midwest, like Chicago or even Minneapolis. Minneapolis had an awesome turnout for CSTS this year, (we ran it 3 mights in a row for heaven's sake). Sorry, I'm just whinging and complaining because I can't afford to head out to any of the west coast conventions or events. :(
Linnea1928, maybe you should be a part of a group to put together a Minneapolis bid for the Ball in 2010? You might need to start one, or find out if anyone else in your area is interested. The ball moves every year and I think they are taking applications.
