In regards to Angel#19...
1)So it looks like Angel is a vamp again.
We still need to see if this cover is a mislead and how the last three issues of ATF plays out but assuming this cover isn't a mislead,I was expecting a re-vamping.Although I won't lie and say it isn't a little disappointing to me since I think it would of been much more ballsy, daring and interesting to keep him human over just reverting back to status quo right after After The Fall ends.Again, that's assuming we take the cover at face value and without knowing the events of ATF #15-17.
2)Sounds like they are back from hell.
I like how the covers we've seen for issues 18 and 19 only feature Angel thus hiding the fates of everybody else. It's perserving the mystery of which of our characters do or don't make it out of ATF.
3)Based on the cover, it looks like we could be dealing with the events of Buffy Season 8 #21 with vampires being revealed by Harmony to the world and vamps becoming cool. The poperizzi seem demonic though so maybe it has nothing to do with what is coming up in season 8.If L.A. is out of hell though than the Angel story is no longer as self contained and I could see a nod to the larger events of the verse happening now, sort of like having slayers in ATF was a nod to the events of Buffy.

Ya I wonder will the Buffy plot play into Angel? But as was pointed out by Brian Lynch - they are demony paparazzi so maybe not.
I love the cover for Blood and Trenches - am majorly looking forward to this. Byrne mentioned that he was doing an Angelus story nest Halloween so he must enjoy playing in the Angelverse:)

I see where you are coming from - but I do want VampAngel back. The whole HumanAngel arc has been great, but he is much cooler as a vamp:)

- continuing the main story

Well, like I said,I expected he would be re-vamped.I was actually surprised they held off as long as they did and didn't do it ATF #13/14.
So it's not a surprise.I liked the idea of going against the grain though and doing something unexpected and keep him human.Making him a vamp again just feels like same old, same old to me at this moment. It's predicable.I think most readers were expecting Angel to be vamped again by the end of ATF.To me,it seems no real change to or for the character.Like the events of IWRY but on a larger scale.I think keeping him human opens more story possibilites at this time then just having him going back to being a souled vampire.
It's why I like the idea of the vamps being revealed to the world in Buffy season 8.It's real change to the verse.
I'm sure there will be emotional fallout for Angel though from the events of ATF.And I realize we still don't know how things play out in issues 15-17 of ATF so there could be big twists coming.Plus, again we don't know if the cover is misleading either.
I agree,IDW is covering all there bases, timeline wise for the Angel line of comics.

I realize we still don't know how things play out in issues 15-17 of ATF and we don't know the context or if this cover is misleading to begin with

Anyone remember the cover of AtF with Groo having short hair?...

And what's wrong with a cat-changer? We've known about the werecat for months. Stop being so negative and give the book a chance.
patxshand | December 14, 16:53 CET
Regarding the were-cat thing, I get the impression that Angel is being more like Buffy season 8 i.e. more fantasy story telling elements than supernatural ones. Angel the tv series did explore the "other" world in far greater detail than Buffy ever did, creatures like were-cats are starting to make my eye twitch a little bit.
