Serenity comes to SciFi. SciFi channel to show Serenity for its Scinema Saturday on January 3.

It's about time! But not in stereo?
I own this movie on regular DVD and on HD-DVD. I have it DVR'd on my cable box. And I go to the CSTS screening every year.

And yet, I will still tune in for this. Why? Because I love it so.
Thanks for the reminder. This will be the commercial cable premiere for Serenity, and an opportunity to expand the Fanbase. So tell your non-Browncoat friends about it. I know several folks that are having mini-Shindigs; Home Parties, where they'll discuss the film during commercials lol.

Also, you can show your appreciation to SciFi for broadcasting it. Simply email them at feedback@scifi.com ,
and tell 'em "Xie-xie". :)
It IS about time, why has it taken so long? *sigh*
And I have to admit that the line up does not impress me, but I'll still hope that some new viewers will find it and realize how amazing it is!
The normal Saturday Sci-Fi movie viewer is going to be blown away!

Me too, madmolly. Me too.
I have it in both DVD incarnations, I have it in my iPod...I can't even think of how many times I've watched it...but I'll watch it on the TeeVee because I want my cable company to know I'm watching.
People expecting the regular Saturday Sci-Fi channel fare are going to be very pleasantly Gobsmacked!
*sigh* I wish I could be more excited about this, but I'd much rather see this programmed on another NBC/U-affiliated station with much broader carriage. Weren't the broadcast rights originally purchased by USA Network? It'd reach a much larger audience there.

In any event, the Sci-Fi Channel has got such a reputation for airing craptastic movies all weekend every weekend that I can't see lumping "Serenity" in amongst the drek is a good thing for us overall.

And, yes, what did take so long? Most other movies that had their theatrical release around the same time "Serenity" did made it to basic cable a long time ago.
Tomorrow night.
