GW: He auditioned for "Crichton," too?
BB: He had auditioned for "Crichton" as well. I was saying, "How come everything I go out for you get?" And he goes, "I auditioned for Farscape!" I go, "No, you didn't!" "Yes, I did!" So, there you go. The one that got away from Nathan.
GW: Did you audition for Firefly?
BB: No, I was still working on Farscape at the time. But Nathan was great in that.
GW: Oh, It's a fabulous show.
BB: I don't think anyone could have done it any better.
GW: Nah. And isn't it such a shame? All of these things come into play, but it's not necessarily the great television shows that survive?
BB: It's not a meritocracy.
GW: Yeah, it's just business.
BB: I suppose so.

ETA that, or, you know, they could cast BB as another superhero in the eventual, one day Dr. Horrible sequel. Can he sing?

I've got it! We need Joss to write a Whedonverse remake of The Sons Of Katie Elder starring Ben Browder, Michael Shanks, Nathan Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris in the titular roles.
...
Um.
OK, I'll go now.

P.S. check out the Farscape comics if you're a fan because the first one was good.

He sang a little in bits on Farscape when Crichton was crazy, if I recall right. I don't think he has quite Nathan-level pipes, but he can carry a tune. I think he would work out fine in any Mutant Enemy musical, especially with Nathan and Neil.

Just the tought of it makes me cringe. Luckely for all of us the right person ended up in the right place. Now they are both great.

I think this is one of the best consequences of Buffy season 8.
I am not saying that that first issue of the Farscape comic was as good an issue of Buffy season 8, but it definitely had the same feel of being honestly like the show. It felt like Farscape, just as much as Buffy season 8 fells like Buffy.
