Buffy boosts News Corp. DVDs of BtVS and other shows have helped to generate revenues of 250 million US dollars in the past year.

Another reason why we'll get a Buffy spinoff and probably one of the most important reasons too.

Probably not unless it's a reality tv based spinoff. That way, there are no actors, writers, directors, etc. to pay, so it's all profit.
