IGN's Top 10 Anticipated TV-to-Film Adaptions.
Our favourite slayer ranks pretty highly on IGN's list of most wanted movie adaptions.
They mention the recent rumours suggesting an impending Buffy movie, but that seems to be hopeful optimism on their part.

Hmm, apart from Stargate. Only slightly unique then ;).
(and though it's not exactly top of my wish-list, does anyone else think they might be throwing the baby out with the A-Team bathwater a little bit ? Gritty, contemporary etc. doesn't exactly scream the essence of the show)

I would really like to see Pushing Daisies, Veronica Mars and Arrested Development, so it's nice to see two out of three happening seems atleast kinda likely.

Also, gotta say I'm curious about the He-Man and Thundercats movies.

Terminator has also gone Movie-TV-Movie, though the new movies aren't exactly based on the TV version.

They've been more D2DVD (and also broadcast) but not cinema released, no. A film is a film though, it's no less a film because of where it first appeared and the article didn't specify that the Buffy situation was unique because it went cinema-TV-cinema.
Of course, the key point is, it's all totally academic anyway - as far as we know there's absolutely no prospect of a Buffy movie happening in the forseeable future or even, as things currently stand, at all.

Personally, my fanboy favorite has to be Astro City. AC would really make for a fantastic movie b/c it could be approached from so many different angles.
And btw Saje--I'm constantly anticipating winning the lottery.

I view it as fleeting as being hit by lightning, finding a four-leaf clover or the leprechaun's pot of gold. Really wish these rumors would
go away alreadystop being promulgated.Tonya J | January 30, 16:50 CET

Terminator has also gone Movie-TV-Movie, though the new movies aren't exactly based on the TV version.
Highlander would be another example, since Adrian Paul even starred in Endgame.

The best I think would be a movie in the Buffyverse, but without the main characters. But I have a feeling that wouldn't be greenlit, or a very popular choice.
Also, the majority of those movies seem horrible. He-Man? Really? Thundercats?
Then again mabye I'm a bit disillusioned with the TV to movie thing recently, since they cast the always horrid Keanu Reeves to play Spike (no, a different Spike) in the Cowboy Bebop movie.

It was shown that the He-man look could be done on the big screen and with live actors in the 80s. The Eternia stuff looked great in my opinion even if the film sucked. With CGI it could look even better (especially Skelator). The problem was with the script, the directing, and that most of the movie was not in Eternia but on lame old Earth! :(
I just hope the Gi-Joe movie doesn't suck so bad that it ruins the franchise like the He-man movie did. In fact the old Gi-Joe movie was actually cancelled for wide release because He-Man bombed so bad. Probably for the best though since so many people hated Cobra La.
I think Buffy had a nice ending to the story and is not in need of a movie. I would so go for another Serenity movie though. I know Joss already has a plan for it and it involves the entire cast, even the dead ones. An Angel movie would be nice too even though we have a great comic series to wrap up that story arc.

Yes, But in the comics Angel did become human, so he could have aged during that time period. It could even be explained that he aged more than he should have because the healing magic Wesley used had a side effect of aging.
Just a thought.

And read season 8 and AtF...

I don't know what you all are talking about David Boreanaz aging. I don't think he's aged much AT ALL between the end of Angel and the current date... just my opinion, hehe. And personally, if there's an opportunity to see FRESH SHINY NEW BUFFY I'm going to flip even if SMG is using a walker.
So I am fully praying to hit the lottery, even if the comic books are pretty rad. *fingers crossed*
Ides | January 30, 22:14 CET
So as a compromise I'm going to throw out there the idea of a Fray movie.
I also agree with Ides about Boreanaz. I don't think he looks any older in recent episodes of Bones than he did at the end of Angel.

No interest in Serenity or Fray for me. I know, shock, suprise. But I would love a Buffy movie. I have enjoyed the comic but they are no way even close to live actors creating the magic.
Although it would be nice I don't really need Angel to be in it, because he wasn't really part of Buffy's world anymore, but I would absolutely need Spike.

This just made me tilt my head back and bark with laughter. I am now filled with pleasant imagery of Sarah flipping through the air, walker and all, just to smash it on a vamp's head. Then she goes for her crochet needles (wooden for some reason) and
knitsstabs him in the heart. Final shot: reveal of her sharp Buffy eyes and a teethless smile. :)I agree, Boreanaz looks if anything more in shape now than at the end of Angel. But if you compare season 1 to season 4 for example... well lets just say I never realized blood was so fattening.
I would say that David is as fit as he was in Buffy season 1, but the skin tone is different. (I believe part of that "fattening blood" was due to a knee injury and he couldn't exercise like he used to for a couple of years.) DB no longer "glows"; he's developed in to the rugged-man type, not porcelain and boyish vampire flesh. Seriously though, his humor and range would be enough to make me drool for a movie. Screw the aging crap. Talent is talent.
So glad the "Veronica Mars" movie is #1. If it ever gets greenlit, I will go crazy. That is a movie I need more than any other movie, ever.
You and me both, patxshand. We can skip hand-in-hand to the cinema on opening day. I think I'm zealous about this one (compared to Buffy) because it seems more official. The bitch will be back. ;)
