io9 asks: Is there too much to watch on Fridays? Survey of TV on Fridays (and what SHOULD be on).

Interesting, I never knew Fridays had so much sci-fi since Joss is as far as I go into that genre.
I thought the Sci-fi filled Friday was just about perfect, my problem is juggling all the shows I love on Monday nights.
I went from having almost nothing to watch on Fridays last fall, to having 6 shows on in the spring! Definitely the kind of problem I'm grateful for, though. If only every night had this kind of conflict.
Edited to remove excess question marks.
I have been taping from 7 - 11 every Friday night for several months, so now I have to tape from 7-12 and watch Flashpoint online afterwards on nights I'm out! Who knew that Fridays would be this good?
What puzzles me is why tv execs think us nerds don't have plans on a Friday night.
I usually don't have plans save for an occasional happy hour. And I stop after 2 drinks so I'm home early anyway. With my job I'm too tired to do anything on a Friday night. And I am just fired up for BSG so I get home and take care of business. I have all weekend to go out and do stuff.

So Fridays are looking pretty good for me.
Even without plans on Friday the 3hr scifi block of Tscc, Dollhouse and BSG is hard to do. Can there be such a thing as too much Scifi? I say yes.
Friday night is the only time my family has to watch TV on a regular basis, and then we only watch quality fantasy. Of course, we are unusual folk. We're all geeks, and we like science, technology, fantasy, etc. To us, the run of the mill cop, lawyer, doctor and reality shows permeating most nights is about as boring as it gets. We'd rather watch paint dry.

TSCC and Dollhouse on Fox.com and Hulu.com and BSG on Hulu.com, all usually by the middle of the following day. Who needs to stay home on Friday when you can watch all those shows the following day in streaming HD, on your computer, while you recover from your hangover?
Ah, but I would rather be outside in my garden, at a cool swapmeet, or at the Ren Faire, than sitting
in front of a computer watching my fav show on a tiny screen. Husband has the nice 50 inch plasma with HD.
So I will be watching Dollhouse and T:SCC right there.

Hangovers. I very rarely do them. Has to be a very special occasion, like when we can afford a bottle of Grey Goose. :)
Perhaps you misunderstand perspective, madmolly. A 'tiny' 17" monitor when viewed 18" has the same Apparent Size of a 68" screen when viewed 6'. In fact, my modestly priced ($250) 22" widescreen monitor when I am sitting at my computer offers me at least three times the apparent screen area as your husband's 50" monitor when you watch it from your couch.

From a purely technological point-of-view, computers have surpassed TVs in terms of quality. Downside is, of course, that you cannot comfortably 'snuggle' in front of a Computer Monitor if you want to share a viewing experience.
Yes, it's more comfy on the couch than sitting in front of the computer. And I sit in front of one all day at work,
don't want to do it for my viewing pleasures.
