It's really nice, although I'm more on the mood for the usual 'picture+name+music' opening credits. This new fashion of 'elegant' openings is definitely not my type _nothing to do with this video, of course.
I dunno, I still think there can be elegant or clever ways of even doing the standard face/name thing.
And I am so impressed that this effort even found a way of getting in the "miniature/establishing shot zoom to the lead" bit and have it work so well. The only quibble I have is that I swear there's probably some clips around that'd make even more appropriate use of the creepy little music box twinkle...
Am I the only one who thinks the [active located] stuff ruins the opening credits on DH? Because other than that, they're absolutely lovely.
How come "ruins"? I've mostly been puzzled by it, because it seems to suggest a kind of GPS tracking that, so far, hasn't been in evidence. But I'd be interested to know why it "ruins" the credits for you.
Well, I like that it expresses the idea that they're never on their own, they're being watched all the time, but maybe there was a less cheesy way to do it.
That's right, the Dollhouse theme is epic! I absolutely love the theme (the long version and the shortened one), and I adore the title sequence. It makes me fall in love with Eliza's magic every single time I watch it. *swoon*
I love the intro. And the [Active located] things only support the fact that it's technology that has affected this person. Technology to track her, program her, and to "idle" her. I think it adds to the creepiness of how much "we" have allowed technology to integrate into our lives... from GPS tracking, alarms to wake you up, and software to suggest things that you like (as if there is a way to track that).
I'm thrilled that the show has a title sequence at all! Not many shows do these days.
Personally, I like it. I love when it's in "model" mode and the transitions and fades work so nicely with the almost haunting tone. I also love the click click of the final notes - it reminds me of the childlike quality of the piano theme for To Kill A Mockingbird which is very fitting since the actives are supposed to be very childlike in their down state.
I think the vidder did a pretty good job. And Redeem147, the vidder is making the video in Dollhouse style. The Dollhouse sequence features only Eliza so it makes sense that this vid would only feature Buffy.
Seeing this made me realise again how bad those slow-mo punches in OMWF were, though. SMG couldn't learn to punch properly after six years of slaying? :P

Really like the Dollhouse atmospheric sounds though, crept me out at parts in episode 3.

And the show wasn't.
Dollhouse showed signs this week of not being all about Echo, and I was very glad of it.
