I see her point...but she definitely comes across as OCD in the other direction. The rant's not worth reading...it is just that, a rant.

I was skimming the article frowning until I hit that speed bump. This Mrs Giggles person gives us non-shippers a bad name. It reads like a dated Usenet troll. Noxon is a grand storyteller. Season six is the Empire Strikes Back of Btvs and any self-professed writer who disses Noxon is not worth reading.

The article starts being about 'shipping, and deteriorates into a description of the author's poor taste. For the record I call myself a plotter, not a shipper, but the character arc between Buffy & Spike is well written and presented. I'm surprised shippers aren't upset with the B&S phenomenon, because objectively speaking, it's actually anti-shipper, and I believe quite creative. I mean the guy almost rapes her for cryin' out loud and they still part believeably as friends. Now that's tremendous writing.

The beautiful thing about being a plotter is that you can be for BOTH B&A AND B&S, so long as the 'ship properly forwards the story. There's a much more positive way to introduce shippers to the plotter viewpoint, and this Squiggles person is not the one to do it.

This person wishes to discuss their TV shows in peace, but can I ask what show out there DOESN'T piss off this bitter whiner of a writer? I hate these people who pretend to love a show for a season or 2 but then turn against it like a rabid mental patient the instant it goes in a direction they dislike. Not only is Buffy obviously the best series ever to hit television screens, but Gilmore Girls is one of the smartest, most well written shows still on the air. I'm not a big fan of the Jess character either, but it's nothing that should make your head do a 360. Certainly no reason to spit vomitous bile all over the internet and then attempt to pass it off as an article.
