Summer Glau nominated for Saturn Award.
She got nominated in the "Best Supporting Actress in Television" category.
One of these days they're going to have invent a category for Dr. Horrible.

I agree. They have to start creating web series awards after this.
I suspect "Dollhouse" aired too late to get in the nominations.

Anyone see "Let the Right One In?" Holy cow, real and scary vampires!

Yeah, pretty sure it's for 2008 (literally i.e. Jan - Dec).
Summer against Katee Sackhoff. Hmm. And Jennifer Carpenter's no slouch either.
(also didn't know they'd released a director's cut of 'Dark City', may need to check that out. Maybe 'Brotherhood of the Wolf' too)

...Terminator? Is that still on the air?
I've seen all of season one and the start of season two and then suddenly I was like, "why am I watching this? I hated the movies." I put up with it as long as I could solely for Summer Glau, and seeing her playing a robot is admittedly a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. I put up with a lot of really bad writing and acting happening all around her. That's how much I like Glau, but apparently I don't like her enough to stomach any more of that.
I fell for that tugging of the heart strings with blood and gore that happened at the end of season one, but then in hindsight I felt used and dirty. They couldn't afford a full fledged action scene, so they 'got creative' and showed a bunch of SWAT guys falling into a pool in slow motion. Then to add sacriledge to injury, they played Johnny Cash over the swimming pool scene. At the time I was mildly entertained, but now it feels like my soul has been scarred in a way that can never be undone.
Cancelation's too good fer 'em.

If I had written that I would have had her kicking somebody's butt since that is what she always does in her roles.

The entire action/adventure/thriller category should be struck except for Batman. Some like VALKYRIE keep popping up elsewhere as well. I know it is probably not a very accurate portrayal of events but it is a historical drama and not a sci-fi/famtasy.
And what is "The Day The Earth Stood Still" even doing anywhere near an awards show for anything but digital special effects?
I loved the original, and I am a huge sci-fi fan, but there were better sci-fi movies produced for the Sci-fi channel this year, and we all know how bad some of those can be.

Kudos on the hyperbole ;) but factually, nope, wrong. As quoted below and elaborated on here. Whatever you think of the show Zachsmind (and there's a lot of room for criticism IMO), that was a deliberate choice. And it worked brilliantly I reckon so credit where it's due.
Friedman: It's pretty simple. We were sitting in the writers' room and we had to have this S.W.A.T. shootout and I said "I want to do it all from the bottom of a swimming pool." And everyone laughed at me. Not in a "you're an idiot" way, but as if I was joking. But I kind of acted out what I wanted to see, and Ian Goldberg, who was going to be the one writing the script was taking notes and he wrote it down. When the director came on board it was interesting because he came to us…and he said, "I love this pool shootout. What movie did you take this from?" I said, "No movie, this is just what we wanted to do."

I was a little disappointed to see Micheal Hogon not nominated for "BSG." Saul Tigh is one of the best characters on television.
That's all.

Iron Man should win for film, though Hellboy should be the fantasy film nominee (and should win). Not sure why Twilight was nominated. And of course Lost should win for best network TV, while BSG for the other one (syndicated?) While I'd generally say those two shows should win all of the things their nomianted for (except for of course in the case of Summer), Alan Dale was not very good in Lost. Sure the characters good, and he's intimidating, but his British accent is very very dodgy.

I don't know what the Saturn Awards people are doing. A quarter of those films do not fit Science Fiction, Fantasy, or Horror in any way, shape, or form. If they came out and said 'genre films', you might be able to stretch the category to fit Changeling but, my goodness, the script is taken nearly word for word from historical documents, how is that SciFi, Fantasy, or Horror?

Saje, that might be what they say for the trades, but I know television. The idea got greenlighted cuz it was cheap, not cuz it was effective. And they coulda played any other music over it and lessened my wrath, but playing Cash over it was like Alex having to suffer Lugwig Van during rehab.
My point is I'm done with Terminator. I gave Summer Glau a whole season of support, which is far more than I gave Baldwin over Chuck, or Hannigan over How I Met Your Mother (*throws up a little in his mouth*). I love the riders, but not their rides.
FaithsTruCalling: "If Nathan Petrelli isn't the lead character in Heroes... who is?"
It's an ensemble show; not supposed to have a lead. If it has to have one though, I'd vote for Noah Bennet. He's pretty much the fulcrum upon which the long con plot arc of the series has rested.

Mr Muggles.

Fair enough, there's no arguing with that kind of "knowledge".

They're doing a Hollywood remake that for some kind of prejudice I wonder will be miles away from the original. At least i hope they change the fact that Eli was a castred boy and that scene where she/he chages clothes. Those give me chills.

But Katee Sackoff in BSG gets my vote (or would, if I had one).
Great to see the Leverage love but again, anything or anyone up against BSG in any category, comes in a distant second, IMO.
