Castle gets a DVD release date. The first season will be released on DVD on Sept. 22nd.

Less than a week after the premiere of the series, Walt Disney Home Entertainment announced that the complete first season will be released on DVD on September 22nd, with an SRP of $39.99. No word on a Blu-Ray release, though it will likely be released the same day.

I don't have an exact date for Dollhouse embers, but I know it will be pretty soon. Blu-Ray comes out same day.

Wow that's pretty fast for an announcement seeing as it premiered Monday. I wonder how far off in the future "Instant DVDs" are.

That happens all the time in the UK, things being released the first Monday after they're on TV.

I would imagine that end of Sept date for Castle is hardly one either. It would be just in time for a second season to start, if it's lucky enough to get one.

Wanting to check it out, I found the first 13 minutes on YouTube. Below average writting and interest. The female lead was pretty poor as an actress. Only Nathan Fillion was of any interest. Show is not worth checking out again.

By the way, who was credited as the composer for the pilot? I've seen two different composers mentioned (I guess one replaced the other's score).

Does anyone know if Fox is going to use Dollhouse dvd sales as a way to decide if there should be a second season? Can they wait that long? Because if the sales are really good then that may help.

I suppose it's a long shot but does anyone know if the UK are going to get the Dollhouse DVD at around the same time or if they're going to hold back until it's been bought/shown over here (or until it's clear it won't be). I see it's already listed on Amazon.co.uk, but I don't think that means much.

Has that ever happened ? A mid-season show coming back mid-the-following-season (apart from extraordinary circumstances like strikes etc.) ?

I doubt they would want to return it for just another 13 episodes. To make the moolah on broadcast TV long term, you need to broadcast a lot of episodes.
