The Sarah Michelle Gellar Birthday Project! (Donate to her favourite female-empowering charity). Sarah turns 32 on April 14th so for the occasion, fans have decided to donate to her cause for the second year in a row. The project was quite successful last year and we hope that people will participate again this year.

As some of you know, Sarah is an ambassador for the CARE organisation, which seeks to lessen the burden of poverty by educating (and thus empowering) women. CARE places special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty.

NOTE: I know that people have it tough this year and that the current state of the economy doesn't encourage a lot of selfless giving which is why so many non-profits are suffering. However, seeing a recent CARE documentary reminded me that even a little bit helps. If you can only spare $1 (or $5), please do not hesitate to contribute to this project.

If you would like to participate and/or learn more, please follow the link. Visit CARE for more information about the organisation.
