March 14 2009

Streamy Awards nominations are finally announced. Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is nominated for most qualifying categories. It faces off against Felicia Day's The Guild. Jane Espenson is also nominated for writing the BSG webisode. "The live Awards Ceremony will be live broadcast online on March 28, 2009 at 7:30 PM. Head to www.streamys.org to watch."

I noticed that under the "Original Music" category, only Jed is listed. What happened to Joss and Maurissa?

Also, apparently they are going to have voting for the best web series open on March 16th - audience choice award.
Wonder what Felicia is rooting for.
Oh and, samatwitch, maybe it's a particular song written by Jed that they chose.
I think she roots for The Guild (it's her baby, after all) but will be happy either way.
I'm honestly not sure for which one I'm rooting. I'll be happy either way, but a tiny part of me wishes The Guild could win all 11 categories. =P

Yes, and if you blog what you think the 10 choices will be, they'll be picking the best one and giving that person free tickets to the event. (I'd try for it, but my travel money's blown on Paley and Comic-Con.)

Interesting b!X - Have you got a link to where they said that? The fact that this event is going ahead is a great testament to the progress made in webtv/video/whatever you want to call it. And there are some interesting nominations from series I've not heard of before.
It was said here and then also by @streamyawards.
Thanks, b!X, I completely missed this. I have my list....
Hmm. I counted 8 categories for Dr Horrible and 11 for The Guild. Did I miscount? Though it depends how you count it, I suppose, since Nathan and NPH are both up for 'Best Male Actor in a Comedy Web Series'.
