TV Guide posts: Irish People We'd Like to Share a Pint With. One of their picks is our favorite (Irish) witch!

"Though this How I Met Your Mother star is only half-Irish, anyone who can deliver the famous flute dialogue from American Pie with such brilliant comedic timing, and use her "milkshake" to bring all the boys to the yard. . . earns an invitation to join us at the local pub. However, we'll wait to issue said invite until after Hannigan delivers her impending bundle of joy this spring."

AH is Irish?? I thought she was Jewish!

*lol'd myself*
I think her mother is Jewish, and her father is Irish.
Sadly, I didn't make the list. Then again, I'm probably the only Irish person in the world who doesn't like beer.
korkster Little Green Kid : Aly's father Al is Irish by adoption, Anglo-Saxon genetically. Like Bill CLinton, he proudly bears hsi stepfather's surname. Her mother, Emily Posner, is Jewish and Aly was raised that way, altho neither mother nor daughter were ever heavily practicing. I have no idea what Alexis's background is, what the situation in the Denisof household is or how they'll raise their child and it's none of my business anyway unless A&A choose to share. I heard a rumor that they're godparents to Joss's son which raises other questions of its own, also not my concern but fun to think about :-).

redeem147; Aly doesn't dislike it, but she literally can't drink. She's said in interviews one serving of alcohol gets her totally non-functional.

PS: I just checked out some recent pix and they won't have long to wait; she is literally out to here (that looks funny when it's just words, doesn't it?) with child. (Altho I have to admit I've seen bigger.)

I had no idea she was half-irish.
also, that list left out Dylan Moran. I'd love to share a pint with him.
Well, the Jossverse's Most Irish award has to go to Glenn Quinn (R.I.P.) and Stephen Mooney. ;)

I doubt Dylan Moran would share his pint with anyone (and it seems she's not half-Irish if the name's by [her dad's] adoption only. I realise yanks like to celebrate their ancestry but that seems a bit thin, even by those standards - if I change my name to Patel it won't make my future kids half-Indian for instance ;).

Oscar Wilde would probably be my pick from anytime/place (Olivia Wilde would be a more than acceptable substitute though ;)
If we can pick from any time... I would pick Tim Russert, and I agree, Oscar Wilde would be a great choice, too.

DaddyCatALSO - She's about a month ahead of Cobie Smulders and Cobie revealed her baby is due late April. So for Aly, yeah, any day now!
You're not the only one redeem147 - I very rarely touch the stuff:)
