The Key is Nursing. Michelle Trachtenberg has landed a lead role as a "tragically unhip" nurse in the NBC drama pilot "Mercy."

NBC is ordering pilots? Don't they already have too many shows since they are losing 5 hours of programming a week next fall? Good luck Michelle. I hope you have some movie deals to fall back on.
Maybe NBC's new strategy is to show nothing but pilots.
That makes two Buffy Alums who've had lead roles as nurses in drama pilots. The one staring Eliza Dushku is on Youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pjnsr220pAU: worth watching the first few minutes for the "Faith moment".
I saw a promo for 17 Again the other night. Can I have those 90 seconds back, please? eyeroll

NBC has ticked me off a bit with their scheduling - Merlin was announced last fall as being part of their "Winter '09" line-up, which I (And most other folks) took to mean sometime in the beginning of this year, since winter happens twice a year. But, no. Now it's not slated to air until June. (And I wouldn't be surprised if they pull it before then.)

I barely watch NBC any more, except for L&O & SVU. And Biggest Loser, which is actually rather inspiring.

Anyone remember Kali's show, Fillmore Middle?

Yeah. Exactly my point.
I watch CHUCK & Medium faithfully, and Heroes once in a blue moon. I didn't know they were giving Merlin the runaround. What is wrong with these people?
I'm trying to picture our Michelle looking unhip.

*crickets*

Nope. Can't do it. Ten to one they do that old "put the gorgeous gal in glasses* trick...
Do they want to use the ER set or something? The idea is somewhat similar to that of SMG's HBO series.
I only watch NBC for The Office. Last year, they really made me angry with how they handled Scrubs.
I think "unhip" means referring to her attitude, dress style, taste in music, etbloodycetera. Basic physical appearance seems other and to the side, methinks.

I don't buy it either, mind you, just clarifyin' th' terms.

Obligatory egotiticial self-reference; Since in my futurefics I ahve Dawn becoming a doctor (by 2026 head of the ER,) I take this as partial ratification.
Was I the only one who read the title and thought "I didn't realize Michelle Trachtenberg was pregnant?" Nevermind then...
Bwahahahaha, jclemens. I totally missed that.

No ... only I read it that she'd already had the baby and was 'nursing' ... ;)
