What the papers say about Dollhouse episode 7. The Zap2it review notes the funny but says "I hope this is the ONLY episode that features [Buffy-esque] lines such as these". TV Squad thinks Echoes "was a terrific episode", the A.V. Club gives it a 'B+', IGN.com 5.5/10 and iFMagazine says "All in all -- a pretty solid episode". And finally, CliqueClack TV thinks "the funny stuff was welcome, and well done".

If you've found any other reviews or want to pimp your own review, please do post the link in the comments section.

I loved the Buffy-esque lines. Overall, I agree with the AV Club, B+
Buffy-esque? How were they Buffy-esque? Except for the "Say hi for me" which is a direct Xander line (and made me tweet in response, "Say hi for me?"), I didn't catch any Buff-esque dialogue.
I added the IGN link to the entry.
OK, I'll pimp my review at http://www.geocities.com/impalergeneral/DHreview.html

I also have an archive of past reviews at http://jwnetwork.blogspot.com Last night's review will be there by Monday.
I was pleased to see the Television Without Pity recaplet to be gushingly positive. Couch Baron starts his review in brief with, "THIS was the episode, you guys. Dark, twisty, and hilarious all at once."

I agree.
Pretty sure the IGN reviewer just plain hates the show. He seems to be more negative than most.
Apart from Stage Fright, he's given previous Dollhouse episodes 7s and 8s. So to say he hates the show is a bit of a misnomer. And where he says

we need to know and care about these people in their normal identities first before you can show their flip side

I would agree. I watched Topher and Adelle act wacky and really didn't care one bit. If they had showed more of Boyd acting out of character, then I would been more interested.
I found Topher to be....like himself with an extra shot of coffee. I thought Adelle was brilliant! I laughed out load and I want to watch the episode again.

Okay - I really enjoyed the episode. I must be connecting with everyone. I googled and most of the reviews I've seen have been quite positive.
Finally the naysayers have come 2 their senses and have seen that this show can be hysterically funny as well as seriously entertaining and it gets better with each episode Joss rules
Topher being basically himself still amused me. I also spent half the episode staring at his penis. Keep your pants on, boy.
I suppose hate is a bit strong, but he certainly seems much more negative than most. The highest rating he has given was an 8.0 for MotS, which is still not terribly high compared to other reviews of it. And he said Stage Fright was Knight Rider bad, which I can't agree with.

And as far as the characters go, I've connected with them all just fine. Though I would like to see more of Sierra.
