This Friday: Dawn Meets Young Simon. As Zac Efron and Michelle Trachtenberg both co-star in the comedy "17 Again".

Plot Summary excerpt : "Young Mike (Zac Efron) returns to Ned's house, where he has the difficult task of convincing Ned that he is in fact Mike. At a loss of what to do, Ned pretends to be Mike's father and they register Mike back in high school to finish the life he never had the chance to live.

He discovers that his daughter, Maggie (Michelle Trachtenberg), is not nearly as innocent as he thought she was and his son, Alex (Sterling Knight), is the brunt of the star athlete's jokes."

It was released in Ireland last week and I went to see it. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Its very throwaway stuff, but well executed with some very funny bits.
Strange when you put it that way -- Young Simon is Michelle Trachtenberg's dad, but Adult Simon is Michelle Trachtenberg's lover in a lifetime movie she did with Sean Maher.
This is the first thing he's been in since Firefly that I actually want to see.

Really good picture of Michelle on the film's cast list on that site.
Kingofcretins, do you mean the movie where she leaves her crippled boyfriend to find success within fashion(I can't remember if it was Adult Simon or not).

Btw, still don't get why her character went back to her home town and old boyfriend. Guilt maybe?
Simon says...what?
Zac Efron was young Simon? *_*
So young Simon is her father, while older Simon was her lover? Poor little Dawnie is gonna need some serious therapy.
I had no idea Zac Efron was young Simon. I must admit he was very good on SNL this weekend.
I think it's fun that he's now the young version of two actors I like more than I like him (Sean Maher and Matthew Perry). I also find it delightful that I don't think either of his older selves could reasonably play brothers, much less the same person.

For what it's worth, I thought that I would like Hairspray in spite of him, but it turns out I quite liked Hairspray, in large part because of him. Go figure. And bonzob, I would call him... all right at best on SNL. I kind of felt embarrassed for him in the Kathie Lee sketch.
He wasn't amazing, but he seemed very game and likable and not obviously reading cue cards, which is more than a lot of hosts.
It's true. Likable, I would call him. Game, absolutely. And, even though I've seen better cue card reads, compared to, say, Tracy Morgan, you could convince me that Zac was completely memorized.

Also, I loved the High School Musical 4 sketch.
I have to say that I didn't recognize young simon on snl. Zac was good, I loved that High School Musical sketch too. It was funny. but as always, News update with Seth Meyers was the best.
Saw this movie last Friday (it was out in Australia)....I don't reccommend it. Not at all.
I also had no idea Zac Efron was young Simon. He's grown up a bit. Also now I feel old.
On the face of it, this just appears to be yet another Disney remake of Freaky Friday.

I'll pass.
Yeah, Young Simon was the first acting gig Efron got, on TV, anyway, so it got a big mention in the TV bio that I saw in passing the other day (he already rates an hour-long "Hollywood Story" or whatever the hell it was). It was nice to see backstage stuff of Firefly, though, on a bio pic made for general consumption.
I guess this makes him Kirk Cameron.
Won premiere passes to this while trying to win something more pricier, it's tomorrow, dunno if I'll go. Waiting to hear back from a couple friends, but not sure I'm willing to go alone otherwise. Might not be worth the gas and subway tokens to get downtown and back either, though it is always fun to win stuff (likely they'll be giving away a prize pack or two of who knows what at the Toronto premiere like they usually do). Matthew Perry I like, Zac Efron sometimes not (although he was a perfect young Simon and everyone in Hairspray was fun).

Wasn't aware Michelle Trachtenberg was in this too.
