Doug Jones stars in the indie film "My Name is Jerry". There will be a special screening of the film in Muncie, Ind. with Doug on May 7th.

From Doug Jones myspace blog about the screening;

Special Indiana Film Screening
So let's talk about "Jerry" just for a second:
Audience Test Screening / Fundraiser - Thursday May 7, 2009 - Horizon Convention Center - Muncie, Indiana
(When you get to this event site, scroll down to the bottom for a fun little teaser video of the film!)

This is the first ever screening of the film, but is in no way a "premiere" ... just a way to get feedback from a test audience, and raise needed money to further market the movie (film festivals, attracting distributors, AND hosting other industry screenings in Chicago and Los Angeles). I will be at this Muncie, Indiana screening to help the effort, and will have Mrs. Laurie and 9 other Jones clan members with me!! SO if you are anywhere close enough to come join us that Thursday evening, please do!! This will be my very first time seeing the movie myself, so I'm all a-titter and nervous. Thank you all for your excitement on this one. It is so near and dear to my heart. Let's hope it does well on the festival circuit and will attract the perfect distribution deal.

Not only do I live about half an hour from there, but I know people who were extras in several scenes in the movie. Thanks for letting me know about the screening before any of the local news networks reported on it. :)
I used to live in Muncie and go to BSU. I actually posted earlier this year about the opportunity he was giving the BSU acting majors.

Unfortunately, all of this happened the year after I graduated, darn it. As did the whole thing with the Cardinals going to a bowl.

Anyway. Go Ball State, and I wish I could go to this but I've already planned/bought tickets to go to an IMAX sneak screening of Star Trek.
VeryVeryCrowded, were you at Ball State when Jane Espenson came and did the lecture and Q & A sessions with the communications department?

It was the semester before my freshman year but I snuck in and got to interview her for my high school newspaper. She's amazing.
If I lived anywhere nearby, I'd go. Doug Jones is always worth supporting!
