14 Greatest 100th Episode Sci-Fi Milestones. Buffy and Angel make the list of Sci-Fi Wire's 14 100th Episode Sci-Fi Milestones.

Also on the list is an episode of Alias that featured the return of Gina Torres' character Anna Espinoza.
It's nice of them to include it, but it wasn't just that Buffy died that made it such a milestone. It was that it was gut-wrenching, funny, poignant, beautifully directed and acted, and it said volumes about family and sacrifice. Best season finale, ever. Also, best previouslies sequence ever.
Both definitely the most memorable 100th episodes to me, but which one is better? You're Welcome is one of my favourite episodes of Angel, it was an amazingly well written and structured episode, and Angel's final fight with Lindsey was as good as I could have hoped for. But even though I usually sway more towards Angel, The Gift just can't be topped - imo it was the peak of the show that even Chosen couldn't match. I can't wait to see what Lost comes out with tonight.
Spoilers for what, cc?
The Gift is most deserving, but You're Welcome wouldn't make my list of favorite AtS eps, even if I did a top twenty.

And I'm thrilled to see some B5 recognition. I had no idea what they're 100th ep was, but The Ragged Edge was a great one.
It seems far to easy to forget that B5 was the pioneer in two areas that raised SciFi/Fantasy to a really adult, thought provoking level .... strong female characters ;) and "it's Ok to be dark, complex and morally ambiguous".
I couldn't stand 'You're Welcome'. It was way too cheesy ('my name's Angel') as well as really unsubtle and moralistic (in particular Cordelia bores me to tears with her speechifying). Unfortunately, I think lack of subtlety is (along with other more positive attributes) something that characterises most David Fury episodes (drugs turn you into fish! Don't play pokies! Spike is evil and stupid!)

'The Gift' on the other hand was outright brilliant. Though as far as season finales go I still prefer 'Becoming Pt 2' and 'Restless' and maybe 'Graduation Day Pt 2'

ETA: that wasn't a slight against 'Go Fish'. I'm one of the four people who really like that episode

There are actually that many? ;)

Due respect to David Fury who I think did some better work in later BtS eps, but I have to agree that in general, I'd much rather see him in a singing cameo, that writing an episode. Mainly because of his often noted anti-Spike sentiments, Spike being my favorite BtVS character.

I agree, Fury singing I like more than Fury writing. He always seemed like the pacemaker-writer for me, always writing the few eps per (later) season that you never actually remember, because they didn't push anything forward (of course, if you give him an season opener or finale to write he will inevitably push things forward) but serve as a backdrop or atmosphere-description of the current situation.

Of course, you need those eps too and I'm thankful for them since some stuff he wrote is damn hilarious ("Gone" comes to mind). And I think he went out on a high note with LMPTM.
