Danny Strong to pen 'The Butler'. The film will be based on Wil Haygood's Washington Post story "A Butler Well Served By This Election".

Wow, I'm so happy to hear about this! I thought that 'Recount' was awesome, Danny showed that he could unfold a complex story in a natural logical way, hiding the exposition in the dialogue seamlessly, so I'm sure these more recent screenplays will also be wonderful.
Danny's become such a renaissance man with the prize-winning writing. Are we sure he hasn't cast any spells lately?
I remember that WaPo story. That will make a GREAT film. Good on you, Danny!
I loved 'Recount' to bits. So I am now officially looking forward to this, as I am to 'The Crusaders'. I love that he's picking these political, socially active topics to write movie scripts about. It's pretty much my favorite topic in fiction-that-is-not-sci-fi-or-fantasy :)
