Whedon Explains Angel Loss of David Simkins after only three months on the job. "We just tried to put him in a job that was nearly impossible to do," Whedon said. "It's a dangerous move to bring in an outside person. But, brave we were [in Yoda voice]." I wish there was some audio for his Yoda voice.

The reaction of AtS fans to his departure has mainly been one of good riddance due to his professional background but I wonder if it really is better when "... all of my[Joss] writers are coming up and working harder and getting more opportunities. That's really the way we should have done it." Can the writers keep the quality as high as it has been while having to work harder? Was the "job that was nearly impossible to do" merely Simkins getting in the way?
