Buffy season 5 dvd box art Buffy fans, wait no longer to feast your eyes on the cover of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Complete Fifth Season.

Its finally up

I find it very amusing that like the Season 4 DVD box art, everyone's clothes (except Spike's) has been retouched so that they're all wearing black.
Oh man, I didn't know Joss was gonna do commentary for the Body. I hold very high hopes for that.
Meg, if it's the same commentary as in the region 2 release, you shouldn't be disappointed; It's pretty deep and thoughtful.

Spike should be featured more prominently on the buffy dvd artwork. And the Angel dvd artwork too. And he should have a spot on the firefly dvds as well, maybe on the back cover or in the decoration on some of the discs. I wonder if the people who design the dvd artwork know anything about the shows they're designing the packaging for, or if they just pick pictures they like. Of course, Spike's actually in season five, so maybe I shouldn't complain. And that gag reel sounds like fun.
Like it or not, Spike was the season 5 male lead. I do wonder why the villains don't get any prominence on the boxes, but eh--it looks good to me. And I do like the red--I've always associated S5 with red. Maybe because of Glory.

actually no

the buffy picture is from the season 5 promos - and she was always wearing black

and the dawn shot is from the season 5 promos as well - and she was wearing really dark purple and it's hard to make out with such a small picture but it doesn't look like they changed her colour at all

and also - the buffy picture on the season 4 boxset wasn't changed at all - the original picture had her also wearing black (but the willow shot was altered

Nowhere in my post did I say that the shot *isn't* from the season five publicity photos. It'd be rather silly if they weren't (although they'll have to reuse the season six photography for the season seven boxed set).

Anyways, I have the WB's photography CDs in front of me, and in the original season five photo shoot, Sarah's top is a deep neutral shade of blue (#3E424A) and Michelle's top is a deep shade of blue (#212D47).

Meanwhile, in the original season four photo shoot, Sarah's top is indeed black, while Willow's top is aqua (#87C4E0).
"And I do like the red--I've always associated S5 with red. Maybe because of Glory."

I've always associated Season 5 with a light blue color. I think that has something to do with the portal Buffy jumps into in the end. Red is Season 2 for me. That's probably because the DVD box set is red, and it came out (I think) before or around the time when I started watching Buffy. :)

I also think it's appropriate for Spike to be on the Season 5 cover art.

"I do wonder why the villains don't get any prominence on the boxes..."
Well, the Gentlemen are on the Season 4 cover.
