Firefly Females Make Top 10 Sci-Fi Movie Babes. Asylum.com talks about their top 10 Sci-Fi Babes of all time - and the crew of Serenity ranks quite high.

How this [Serenity] didn't become a long-running franchise is one of the universe's great mysteries.

Hear, Hear.
It was nice to see our ladies being recognized for the awesome force they are.

But where were the BSG women. I thought for sure they would list Caprica 6. Megan Fox over Tricia Helfer? pshaw
Unless something dreadful's happened in the past three years, that comment about Carrie Fisher is absurd.
frostcircus, she was a presenter on the Tonys recently. Google a picture and answer your own question. I won't comment here.
I've not seen that image of the female cast before, wonderful picture.

And yeah, wheres the Helfer love? Everytime I see her I'm blown away and personally I'm a little bored of Fox.
This is a Movie list, hence the lack of TV Icons.
Nice, but we're losing to Milla Jovovich...
And rightfully so. Milla rulez.
I just had the frightening realization that Kaylee and Inarra are essentially Mary Ann and Ginger from Gilligan's Island - whose character list is actually based on that of the 16th century Italian Commedia del Arte. The Commedia del Arte casts often also contained a Doctor (the Professor) and a Captain (the Skipper) both of which we have on Serenity. Then there is the character of Harlequin (Gilligan) who is usually the lynchpin of the story. I could see River as a Harlequin figure - although usually a male and not quite so deadly.
I love Firefly and Whedon's stuff in general, but if I've one (not so major) complaint it's that the cast are so gorram hot, and not just in a vacuous beauty-pageanty way. Gals and guys (not that I'm sly, y'understand, but I can appreciate a fine specimen) are all mighty pleasing to the eye, and have inner depths too. How does Joss manage to cast so many shiny people?
Hmm. Looks like a few botnets are competing to see who wins. When 3rd place has <1% of the vote, you know some serious stackage (the vote kind) is going on.
I had to give it to Leeloo too.
Milla Jovovich was awesome in The Fifth Element. But hotness-wise, I hate to see all the appreciation for borderline anorexia.

As for Carrie Fisher, I just don't get it, never have. Especially over Sigorney Weaver. It always gives me the creepy feeling that there are still far too many men out there who would rather see a woman in chains, than kicking ass.

I think it is the more compelling emotional dynamic you get when a character goes from being in a worse condition (enslaved) to a better (free and fighting back) that so many find appealing, rather than any gender-fueled domination stereotype - and no I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, let alone a Princess Leia devotee.
