As for Carrie Fisher, I just don't get it, never have. Especially over Sigorney Weaver. It always gives me the creepy feeling that there are still far too many men out there who would rather see a woman in chains, than kicking ass.

I think it is the more compelling emotional dynamic you get when a character goes from being in a worse condition (enslaved) to a better (free and fighting back) that so many find appealing, rather than any gender-fueled domination stereotype - and no I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, let alone a Princess Leia devotee.
