Naming Serenity. The folks over at the Firefly Ship Works are seeking naming suggestions for their years-in-the-making, screen-accurate, model replica of Serenity which is currently in the final stages of development.

Update: Don't forget to post any suggestions you may have in the comments section at the bottom of the linked article.

Wooooow. That's pretty awesome.

Unrelatedly, does anyone know what's going on with that Firefly fan series? Are they still gonna do it?
Doesn't Serenity already have a name? ;)

Kind of wondering about that myself, but they're still asking.

Other than that, all I have to add is that I WANT ONE

The name of the replica currently is “Official Film Quality Studio Scale Serenity Artisan Replica, SFX Edition”.

How about Official Studio-Quality Serenity Replica ?

Someone should let Stephen Colbert know.
Ohh, I'm buying this!
LOL, Succatash. How about Colbert?
How about Colbert?

Why not? Think of all the support he could drum-up for the site.
How about "I Am a Leaf On The Wind"?
Unless it were me buying her (unlikely with the condition of my wallet!), I would like to have a backstory before I go naming a ship. What if you name her in the same vein as "Serenity", saaay ... "Peace"? But she's owned by that salvage captain who's so hot in "Out of Gas"? That doesn't seem a match made in heaven. He'd be far more likely to name her "Thoreau".

Hmmm, "Thoreau"...
Thoreau the Gay Blade?
Well, his salvage ship is "Walden".
The Fox. Too soon?
Serenitiny (ducks)
I thought that somebody actually built a ship to be the real size of Serenity. I was shittastically excited.

That comes next.

I'm liking the Serenity A.E. suggestion.

"shittastically". My new favorite word.
How about The Albatross?
I'm still completely and utterly unclear what they're after here. If it's a Serenity model, isn't it just called "Serenity". Are they trying to name the ship, which already has a name, or the product?

As the linked article explains, they're looking for what to call the edition of the model, as in "Official Film Quality Studio Scale Artisan Replica", but less wordy.

They're not looking to rename the Serenity!
The two best suggestions I've read there are:

“Shiny Edition”

and

“Big Damn Hero Edition”
