Tim Minear Wrote Episode Two of Dollhouse Season Two. David Solomon ("Out of Gas") is directing.

After Eliza Dushku tweeted "Tim Minear's ep 2 is bananas. Holy shit," I posted a question on his Facebook page asking if he would direct. He replied, "Not directing this time. David Solomon! First script of mine he's directed since 'Out Of Gas,' and that seemed to go pretty well." (Emphasises Emphases added.)

Not sure all may gaze upon the Facebook page of Tim, but here is the link:

Tim posted the title: "Belle Chose."

Literally translates from French as "beautiful thing." In The Canterbury Tales, Geoffrey Chaucer had the Wife of Bath use the phrase as a synonym for her, um . . . go look it up yourself.

With Joss writing and directing the season premiere, and Tim writing and David S. directing episode two, season two is front loaded with what the Germans call ehrfürchtig.*

To make things complete, a special airing of "Epitaph One" would be.

*The word I got when I stuck "awesome" in the German-English translator.

ETA all-important "<"

SWEET. Gotta love that Tim. . .
Has this been seen elsewhere? He just posted that the ep's title will be "Belle Chose."

ETA: Pointy beat me to it! Sorry.

Elsewhere on Tim's page, script supervisor (presuming she still is) Nirvana Adams apparently teases as well, calling Tim a genius and saying she can't wait for next week.
Good catch, b!X. Nirvana's post made no sense to me. Now it makes me wish it was September already.
Somebody told me ep 2 is kinda wacky. Kinda meaning very.

I went on set yesterday, they were finishing up episode 1 with Joss. Pretty obviously, I don't want to talk about much about it. But I can say this: Acker is in the 'house.

At a stretch it could be a sideways nod to Twilight. But this is from a member of a fandom who thought the numbered jerseys in Buffy season 6 signified something momentous.
I'm going to shimmy out to the skinny end of the branch and suggest that a title that translates "beautiful thing" and that Geoffrey Chaucer used . . . as he did might touch on the theme of sexual objectification.
That would fit closer to the show's recurring motif than an oblique nod to Edward and the other one. I'm hoping for Minear commentaries on the season 2 boxset btw, the season one DVD was found to be wanting in that respect.
Mr. Minear does rock a commentary. On the plus side, some fine deleted scenes from "Omega" are on the DVD.
Hee. A dirty Chaucer reference.
I'm gonna be so embarrassed if the title turns out to be a reference to Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
It's the Dollhouse. It's totally about the Wife of Bath.
Season 2 of Dollhouse is shaping up to be the Best Thing Ever (tm). Can I just "fall asleep" until the premiere? (actually the day after, without cable I'll be catching them on Hulu).
Cable? You can't receive FOX over the air?
Maybe he doesn't have the digital conversion box?

That fan had better not watch Lost.

Apparently Standards and Practices wouldn't clear the original title, "Lady's Front Bottom".

Hey, understatement is our thing Yank ! You get razzamataz that's not embarrassing to watch and a well equipped military, we get understatement and HobNobs. A deal's a deal.

Sounds very cool. This combined with Joss' comments about season 2 have me hovering on the edge of my seat already. Can we skip August ? Looks like the weather's gonna be shitty anyway ...
Yep, no cable, no conversion box. Decided to save money and only get cable internet, but not tv. With Hulu, DVDs, and Netflix I'm pretty much covered anyway, and I don't watch much tv. (But I definitely don't want to wait for Dollhouse s2 DVDs to see it!)
This may be the best season opener yet!
Wait a minute, does the season open with episode 2 ? Have Fox done us out of another episode ? Picnic ! Quick, man the battlements, prepare the burning pitch, roll a few extra cigarettes in case we're in for a siege ...
I was hoping for Whedon/Minear opening episodes. Very happy about this.
So now the question is... will episode 3 be able to live up to the first two episodes? (And can Minear/Solomon out-do Out of Gas?)
*stabs Saje for trying to start another picnic; we are DONE with picnicking!*
They don't need to out-do Out of Gas IMO. Anything in the ballpark would make me a very happy camper.

Hey Gossi, are you somehow in California now?
"They don't need to out-do Out of Gas IMO. Anything in the ballpark would make me a very happy camper."

Seconded!
Hey, I thought it seemed plausible they would have a Beauty and the Beast reference too, after Briar Rose! Granted that one was based off the original story more than the Disney version, but there's still the fairy tale motif. For all we know it could be both though.
Eliza Dushku tweets: "Episode 1 under our belt, folks- it's as rad & bad as rock-n-roll baby! Unfrigginbelievable!! Ahhh. Pride."

Maurissa Tancharoen tweets: "I concur with @elizapatricia. Minear's ep 2 is insanely awesome."
