Of course. This was part of Joss Whedon's evil plan to steal Summer back from Josh Friedman. He was so jealous of Mr. Friedman that he created a television show on Fox, knowing it will get the same ratings as T:SCC forcing the network to make a decision between his show and T:SCC. He choose to work with the 20th Century Fox because that would make it easier for the Network to chose his show. And now, she's working with Joss again. It's like pour salt in the wounds. Why is working on the show that was the reason for T:SCC's cancellation is beyond me. This is Summer's kick the dog moment for me.

I'm mad. And I'm going to show my anger by watching my Dollhouse DVDs.

So very happy that this worked out. Just don't kill her Joss (unless the story really demands it and then we will be upset and weepy, but we'll understand and go through a long vocal grieving process and then get over it eventually, maybe, sort of).

I watched Heroes season 3 through to the end, because it kept on being just interesting enough to show hints of going back to being cool. I actually did enjoy the way the season ended, but its overall appeal was barely sufficient to keep me coming back.

Also, Summer! I want Dollhouse to transition into more Firefly, with every cast member coming back from other shows that Joss makes fail, as per crazygolfa's insight. Big reveal: the cataclysmic event that forces humanity into space is Topher's robo-call!

I watched Season 3 of Heroes & I'll be watching Season 4 too... because, I need at least one tedious show. I don't want to be completely overwhelmed with awesome; I'd start to feel tiny and unimportant. I need to know that I can do better than others. ;)

Yeah, probably should've said "too youthful" i.e. 28 is old enough to be a manager (though maybe not of something like a dollhouse) but Summer seems younger. Still, she's an actor, i've heard that they're able to pretend stuff, that they've even made a profession out of it ;).

(or she could play a sort of young Turk, an up and comer - that actually strikes me as exactly the sort of character that'd get right up Adelle's nose, which could be fun especially with the added "baggage" of old world cynicism vs new-world can-do attitude)

That does seem to be a recurring element in his other shows thus far, doesn't it mr_waterproof? I never really thought about it until now. If Summer turns into this season's Big Bad on Dollhouse, that will have made Nathan, Gina, Alan and Summer all Big Bads on Whedon's other three series.

Can we get an evil Jewel Staite or Sean Maher yet????

ETA: I guess I should have mentioned Adam as a Big Bad too. How could I have forgot?!

This is joyous for me. However, I have friends who are fans of TSCC who will not be happy. This is the wrong stance to take; that Summer shouldn't work for the show they feel destroyed thier show. Now, during the season finale of TSCC, I was equally attached to it and Dollhouse and didn't want to see either one cancelled with a passion. Now that the months have passed, and one show made it and one did not (though I don't feel it was at the expense of the other), I am ecstatic Dollhouse gets to continue its run. If Summer gets to be a part of that, they shouldn't look at that as working for the enemy, they should look at her as beating the cancellation.

I hope she is just one of those workers that assist the actives (helping them get dressed, art teachers, yoga teachers, other assistants...). Probably not, but it would be really interesting to meet some of those characters. Who are they? Why are they there? Morally speaking, how do they feel about this dollhouse thing? A whole group of characters that we really know nothing about. Very excited to see Summer!!!

I was actually kinda impressed by how extensively they covered that part of the story in season one. Not only did we get a quite pronounced moral position outside of our main characters by someone working with them/underneath them (Hearn), we also got touches of the machinery that comes along with it:

- The Ramirez-replacement wondering about Victor inventing rape in MOTS.
- The staff meeting in "Needs" and how Dominic's view of the Actives as pets catches on with staff like Alvarez.
- Alvarez herself showing up again in "Omega", being proud of her "Nr. 1 Active".
- Blevins quite openly questioning Adelle's judgment in the flashback in "Omega".
- And there's Ivy, the assistant being incredibly angry and not getting enough cool stuff to do and being under the heels of Topher (himself a loud talker, but basically nobody in the upper hierarchy of the house), and then experiencing that role very extremely when she becomes Dom's scapegoat in ASITHOL.

I'd say that a whole group of characters we actually got to know quite a bit during season 1. And looking at the casting calls for the future episodes, I'd say that's a trend that's not going to stop in Season 2.

Actually, Groosalugg? Morena has done evil baddie - Vala's witchy half-human, half-Ori daughter Adria in the final season and one TV movie for Stargate SG-1, plus her upcoming role as the Visitor leader Anna in the revamp of V coming this fall - so it's down to Ron and Sean.

I personally would love to see Sean Maher get to be a Big Bad because he didn't get to be dark or dangerous much in Firefly or Serenity except for the BDM's opening teaser. At least in my opinion, he didn't get to do much dark and dirty. He was a "Girls Gone Wild"-like video series creator in CSI Miami who was a bit of a sleazebag ;)
