New promo pic for Dollhouse Season 2. It's Eliza on a skyscraper.

Picture? Looks very painted or photoshopped.
What's up her left hand? Looks almost like an alternate vulcan salute. lol

I like these skyscraper pictures. They say a lot more about the melancholy of being lost that to me is a poignant theme of the show. It's a shame they scrapped those posters and went for the stereotypical "girl with a gun" poster.
Oooh, like a child looking out at the bright lights of the big city, wondering what's out there for her, intrigued but uncomprehending, not knowing at all what she's in for.

Bwahahaha.
Looks like a photo to me...

Rhodey, I was thinking the same thing, heh. Also, her lower half looks really thin. It does sort of seem like maybe they Photoshopped her upper half to another lower half... but maybe it's just odd angling.

Also I would warn about (mild?) spoilers in the photos below it.

Why do these promo shots make me think Adelle is going to toss Echo out of her office the long way? She sure could use that rope ladder about now.
Not only is it very likely that they photoshopped 2 halves together, but it's just as likely that this final version is actually a dozen or more photos put together. I know a retoucher. They shouldn't be called that, they should be called Dr. Frankensteins.

Personally I like the concept of the photo, but the final product blows. On the other hand, I suppose the fact that she looks fake does lend itself to the metaphor.
She's standing at a slight angle to the glass, angled away at the hips.

But that doesn't explain her really long thumbs.

I really like this series of pics, too - it does portray a strong sense of yearning, of being "in a glass cage." And, to be frank, they'd interest me more in the show if I was unfamiliar with it than the "hot chick in tight black leather with a gun" pics.

And it's not 'cause I'm straight. I find Eliza very attractive. But I'd much rather not exploit her good looks to draw viewers.
Well, hopefully, she won't receive a knife in the gut from the Buffister like she did the last time.

That looked rather painfully, but it may have been the angle;)
I dig the concept of this picture but it's all a bit off feeling to me. I can't really tell if photoshopping is bad, or if it's thematically intentional even if it looks a little strange. I dig the framing and reflection though, it sort of makes me think of an action figure in the little bubble casing.
Looks like a bad manip and definitely distracts me from imputing any 'deeper meaning' to the composition.
This is a real slap in the face for fans like me who want to see Eliza floating inside a building.
Wow. I actually thought it was a pretty cool picture :O

Sure it's photoshopped but what promos aren't? I'm kinda used to that by now. The colours are great and I like the idea of Echo staring out the window. It's as if she's thinking about breaking through and escaping the house.
That's cool, i'm really looking forward to the new "Echo's a floaty ghost" angle in season 2, should keep the show fresh (I hear her first engagement is as a playmate for Casper - this being Joss the whole "friendly" thing turns out to be a sham of course).

The idea's nice enough but the execution leaves a bit to be desired (her left hand for instance seems to have been redrawn from scratch or seriously "retouched" and so - possibly deliberately - looks like an alien's hand). The earlier image of Echo standing on the ledge seemed a perfectly decent cityscape image with more or less the same thematic resonance but fewer alien appendages.
This pisses me off: FOX e-mailed the person who runs truefan-eliza.com and made them take ALL of the DH stuff down, or they were gonna get the site shut down.

WTF?
edcsLover9, do you have a link or could you get the email forwarded to me? kevin.beaumont@gmail.com
That doesn't surprise me, given that site.

ETA: Which isn't an editorial remark on the issue itself, just that I'm not surprised.

Alright, I found out. It's to do with the FOX Source posters. They weren't meant for distribution, so FOX doesn't want them online. I can kind of see why, they weren't finished for one thing.
They changed their Twitter account name, too, after whinging about it. The reality is that anyone who's posted poster concepts publicly has been asked to remove them, and if they themselves had accounts on sites like Project FOX have had those accounts deleted. I think the site owner is overplaying their hand trying to cry martyr over this.

Those temporary promotional posters that leaked... Do they happen to be anywhere at all still? I'm curious what alternate takes they had on the show other than the one with the scrambled letters and gun pose.
In fairness to the fansite in question, as soon as you collapse to a network demand it can become a slippery slope. That said they complied and then some.
And in fairness to FOX, if a fansite is posting copyrighted images it doesn't have the rights to, being sternly contacted by the rights holder isn't an excuse for a hissy fit.

(Not to beat this to death, but the site's "and then some" basically boiled down to "since FOX won't let me post copyrighted images I don't have the rights to, I'm no longer going to promote Dollhouse at all".)
