(SPOILER) IGN review of the Dollhouse season 2 premiere. 'Vows' gets a rating of 8.0, "Dollhouse definitely feels stronger now than it did for much of Season 1, with a more layered storyline going on".

Lovely to read a positive review... as for the skimpy clothes thing, I think it's one of those things that is an almost unfortunate byproduct of the show being ABOUT exploitation, and I prefer to err on the side of believing it's an artistic choice as opposed to, you know, some actual if not necessarily uncommon or horrendous, exploitation. I mean, when it comes down to it, this is Joss, and I trust him.
As someone who last night watched for the first time the Dollhouse season one premiere, (UK viewer with no sci-fi channel), I've got to say, I thought it was pretty decent. Not a "oh my word, this is brilliant" like Firefly was, but both I and the wife said "well, if these are the fairly average episodes and it gets a lot better, I'm quite happy".
Just stick around 'til episode six... You won't be dissapointed.
That was a pretty decent review. He was honest about both the positives and negatives without resorting to snarky remarks to get attention. I'm pretty over that in reviews these days.

Glad to hear they enjoyed it though!
TV Guide and EW are putting their Fall Preview issues on the stands this week. Hope Dollhouse get some decent coverage, not just some mini mention sidebar thing.

Not surprised by great review, written by Eric Goldman.
I kinda wish there was more content to this review, really didn't say much at all IMHO.

Also, slightly OT: there's some spoilery pics floating around on the interwebs that I don't think I'm allowed to post here where Eliza is shooting a scene in which she is
I think you'd be allowed to edcsLover9

We had links regarding the Epitaph One leakage back in July, as long as you spoiler-tag it I think you'd be pretty safe.

If they're scans we don't link to them.
I e-mailed you Simon. Just to make triple sure. LOL.
What's with the negativity on Eliza? I think like every review I read always has that even in the positive ones.
Numfar, I got my TV Guide on Tuesday, and I have to say, I was very pleased. DH got the full page treatment, with the left page being a shiny pic of TP and ED, and the right side being a slightly spoilery article. Good stuff.
@Illyria, that's so cool. Hope something similar happens to EW. The latter has been very uneven in their coverage.
WheelsOfJoy - Don't take in personally. Critics seem to have a have a very cliquish set of standby observations. They're cliquish in that it seems like once they're generally accepted they don't deviate whether or not what they're reviewing supports it because it's assumed that every other critic is usually saying the same thing. As a result, they ALL seem to say the same thing on a small set of topics and often offer little if any support for their claims.

I always had a crazy idea that I thought actually might be funny to objectively review reviews as a website. I admit, this is very special interest and WAAAAAYYYYYY to inside for most people to enjoy, but snarky comments directed at critics who pump out not particularly well thought out drivel might be a source of some amusement.
