I've missed this question. I don't think its been asked this month.

Why is "Ninja Rope" not listed?

I think I would still vote for Firefly, although I do love it all, but I didn't vote because I didn't want to bother to register.

Hm..but that, for a whedonite, can be hard to pick..
I'd be torn between Buffy and Dr. Horrible, and pick Buffy because Dr. Horrible is not..a tv creation.. Or maybe pick Dr H. for the irony?

But I think I'm gonna vote for Dollhouse, pre-season 2 premiere..!

I was torn between being too lazy to register, being much too lazy to register and being slightly bored of polls. In the end I went for 'All of the above and None of the above' just to see if the contradiction would tear spacetime apart.

I think Dr Horrible is just about perfect but it seems unfair to judge 40 or so minutes against, say, 7 seasons of Buffy. So my vote went there instead.

Surprised to see Angel lagging so far behind though.

I sort of expected a dead heat (no pun intended) between Buffy and Firefly. But the margin between them and the others... wow.

Oh, this is dumb. You can vote a million times on this site, jut by clicking the back button (I looked, though resisted the temptation to vote early and often). When I looked a few hours ago, Buffy had a huge lead. Now it is nearly even. No way that just happened by single votes. Having said that, who cares?

I voted for Firefly, of course... but am surprised to see Angel so far behind in the polls. I've been re-watching the Angel season boxsets after being away from them for awhile- and am constantly being reminded of what a great series that was, too.

But Dollhouse definitely has a good chance of making its way up the list if it improves this season.

Buffy, Firefly, Angel, Dr. Horrible, Dollhouse for me. Not that I'm going to bother registering to tell them though. While several people are surprised at Angel's lack of votes, no-one's expressing surprise at Dollhouse's position. Fingers crossed for season two.

This last would be a difficult assertion to defend with academic rigor, in view of the really pretty tiny number of votes collected.

That having been said, it is certainly possible that this on-line poll of the day has been tampered with; I don't know that it's important that it may have been, though.

I love them all but Firefly is my favorite! I didn't register but that's where my vote would go.

And I think many people, like myself, loved Angel but have always felt Angel was an extension of Buffy being in the same 'verse in all so I think that's why it never does as well on these polls. Angel is right behind my Buffy love.

To the person who said you can vote over and over; no, it may look like it, but there's only one vote per account. You could create a bunch of false accounts, but who is really that dedicated?

As to Angel losing by a large margin, I think it has something to do with it sharing the Buffyverse with, well, Buffy. I love the monumental arc that spans these two shows (which makes me vote for it over the more compact genius of Firefly--if it had gone 7 seasons, this might be a slam dunk), but for myself, and I suspect many others, I'm going to vote for the "mother" show, despite loving Angel's grittier tone. Also...Willow.

Oh come on, now Firefly is beating Buffy? Please. Firefly wishes it was that good. I'm watching Enterprise with my partner and I'm enjoying that more than Firefly; I despise Star Trek!

I have not only forgotten my password, but I have no idea what my login name was either, so there are too many variables to get the right combination in 1 or 2 guesses.

I wouldn't be able to choose between Buffy and Firefly anyway, so I'm not going to create another acount for this. In my ranking, these two share the top spot, followed closely by Angel and Dr. Horrible, wich share the 3/4 position and, seperated from these 2 by a much larger gap, Dollhouse is placed at the bottom.

I'd have to go with Firefly over Buffy (which I loved) because of the more... "adult" themes/stories that were being explored.

J Linc, okay you're right. "Buffy" had way more sex than "Firefly." ~_^

What I was actually thinking of (in a rather fuzzy manner) however, was something along the lines of:

BtVS: first love, first time, who am I apart from my family/friends?, who am I going to be?, a black and white version of right and wrong, that whole transition into adulthood, a lack of exploration into the complexity of the world

vs Firefly: marriage, living with the greys of morality, compromising to survive. Having to choose, well everything - what you will care about, what are your limits, who will you go to the wall for.

To me one of the central facets of being "adult" is to actively choose based on who you know yourself to be. As opposed to the more inherited formulaic approach which is where we all initially start out in life. At least until we comes up against that wall one too many times called "this does not compute."

I totally agree, J Link. Even in Buffy's high School seasons 1-3, the "high school is hell" theme was only the tip of the iceberg. More mature themes and sub-text were being explored even in the early seasons.
I believe the title of the season2 two-part finale (Becoming) was a very broad hint that this show wasn't just about literally "growing up", but rather a metaphor for a lifelong process.
And the later seasons made it apparent that this had always been the case.

I especially disagree with this ....

... to the point that I wonder if we were watching the same show.

In fact, what breahesstory goes on to say about Firefly, I would apply equally to BtS ....

With the exception of marriage - and that was even touched on - I would apply that all to BtS, as much as to Firefly.
Especially the grays of morality.
