(SPOILER) Joss talks to Complex Magazine. Joss covers the gamut of his current projects. Spoilery if you are staying away from Dollhouse guest star spoilers.

There's some awesome stuff in this one.
It reveals in public for the first time it's the studio picking up a large bunch of the tab this season, which I don't think was out there before.
It was chunky - with maximum Jossiosity.

And ya gotta love:

"The fan base kept us from being not cancelled, which was very thoughtful of them."

This has been the first website I have ever seen blocked by my work! :-( Any mirrors?

EDIT: I used Google reader to grab the RSS feed of the article instead. Now to give it a read! :-)

gossi, I think this was mentioned in the very first article that broke the renewal news:

Basically this is a case of a bunch of minor decision-making factors successfully ganging up on the biggest factor (ratings). In addition to DVD sales, streaming and DVR influences, Fox received some serious budget concessions from 20th TV and Whedon to continue the show, with 20th now shouldering a greater portion of the load.

Emphasis mine.

So gossi, doesn't that mean that this time around it really was the DVD sales that saved the day? I'm glad I bought mine.
If they were time travelling DVDs yes, otherwise it the iTunes sales, the DVR numbers and me changing my mind about the show around episodes 5 or 6.
Predicted DVD sales.

Wiesengrund, I meant it's the first time ive seen somebody comment about it on the record.
Did they get it wrong about the predicted DVD sales?
Time will tell. Wasn't a particularly strong launch. May do better over time - season two airing will act as free publicity for the s1 DVD. Plus international.
But why are there no pics of Joss in his undies - I don't get it?
He wanted to do some but the magazine refused at the last minute for aesthetic reasons (apparently "turning them inside out" doesn't count as clean to some people. Fussy sods).

Plenty of juicy stuff in there, good interview. Cassaday directing is one of the things i'm looking forward to most this season, that and seeing the lad Denisof onscreen again.

(guest stars are mentioned but not in connection with any character details so not spoilery - to me anyway)
I loved the detailed talk about Fazekas & Butters, the new DP Lisa Wiegand and John Cassaday. (Do we already know which ep he'll direct?)
This "The Cabin in the Woods" teasing is both infuriating and intriguing, it sounds deadly serious one minute and then i read the tag lines for the film (If you hear a strange noise outside... have sex.) and maybe not so much. I must see this movie haha
