The Undead and Philosophy. "Possible topics might include: zombie-based critiques of functionalist theories of mind; the films of [...] Joss Whedon."

"The editors are currently in discussion with Open Court Press (the publisher of The Simpsons, The Matrix, The Sopranos and Philosophy, etc.) regarding the inclusion of this collection in a new book series." They're looking for abstracts.

Not the usual stuff, but I thought it was funny.

I edited your description to save some space and thanks for posting this, I can't help but feel that the editors would be better off looking at the TV shows of Joss Whedon rather than the films. Especially that Resident Evil episode of Angel last season.
Yes waaaay, Joss and Julia Kristeva in the same sentence! Why don't they go the whole hog and do a straight "Buffy and Philosophy" tho'? There's more than enough material for god's sake.
They did do a Buffy and Philosophy.
For some reason I can't stop laughing at the phrase "zombie-based critiques of functionalist theories of mind".
The Buffy and Philosophy book is great. It's absolutely fascinating.
