(SPOILER) First look at Georges Jeanty's cover for Buffy #32. What. The. Frak. (Jo Chen's cover can be seen here).

And is that our fearless leader?

Is he becoming a character, or is he distraught by having given her the powers she now seems to have?
Or is it a comment on the franchise? Nice Action Comics cover tribute btw. One of the better ones I've seen.
Actually, if you look behind the train, the reanimated bodies of Wash, Ms. Calendar, Anya, Jonathan, Wesley, Fred, Nandi, Tracey and Tara chasing him with pitchforks and torches. He's running away from them.
is buffy wearing doc martens? shiny!
Who said "finished"? ;)
Love it.

That is all.
Sorry yosafbridg, they aren't Doc Martens: the seam on the side is in the wrong place, the treads in the sole are too deep, there is no yellow stitching around the sole and no tab at the back.

I remember reading a really good quality season 8 fanfic way back which ended the season with Buffy getting all the combined strength/powers of all the slayers somehow. Something about the scythe and Kennedy was evil or something...

Anyway I like where this is going.
Awesome. Big bags of it.
OMG. It's literally a train-wreck (but without the bad connotations).
Georges Jeanty loves homage covers, so this was probably fun. Plus, it is pretty good.
For those who don't know comics all that well, this is (as Simon mentioned) an homage to the most famous comic cover of all time, Action Comics #1 (that's Superman's first appearance)
Thanks for the link, alexreager. That was very enlightening! I was wondering wtf the cover was about.
I take it that's also Georges Jeanty and Jo Chen in the background? Nice stuff.
Stronger than a locomotive!! Very fine work indeed, Georges.
WHAT HAVE I CREATED!!!!!
Quick, get the Buffy Kriptonite!

(Otherwise known as Angel in a tub of jello).
According to Scott Allie, that's him in the background running away and Jeanty's crouched down. With Joss of course in the foreground.

And also, does that look like three belts around Buffy's waist in Jeanty's cover?
Yeah it does, Emmie. Plus a little bit of skin showing above the belt. Very Buffy-esque.

Angel in a tub of jello

Huh? How is that Kriptonite?
Scott, sorry for mistaking you for a girl! :-\
Wow, Buffy in a skirt.
Will the Shuster estate sue? :)

Great cover.
Super girl =) great.

In distracted sense. :)
FYI, Chen's cover is now available for viewing over at the Dark Horse website and Comics Continuum.
As is the solicitation and title of the arc.

I would guess Fluvogs.
I added the link to Jo's cover.
Hmmmmm. I just thought of something weird after looking at the second cover. Looks like Buffy can now fly. So can Twilight. Twilight knows Buffy pretty well. Could Twilight be future Buffy?
I think Twilight has an adam's apple. From what I remember in that reveal.
Definitely will be picking up both covers for this one.
The Joss-hoss has been getting a whole string of prolific comic cameos of late...

...perhaps it's in preparation for a series lead? :o

Wait, Joss is Twilight? :)
I'm terribly behind on Season Eight (the last issue I purchased was actually #20...) and I'm a little afraid that I'm not ever going to be able to catch up now. :( However, it sounds like things are really starting to get exciting!
I really hope this doesn't mean Buffy permanently ahs evrybody (in the ltieral sense of everybody) else's power.
However, if she eprmanently ahs some extra powers the others don't then we're back to "one gilr in all the world" even if there *are* thousands of Slayers.

"Hmm, a very large and ponderable hmm," as Kenneth Bulmer would have written.
Awesome. Looking forward to it.
Heh, I love Georges' homage covers, but he didn't really capture Joss. The facial hair looks more Freddy Femur (from Strangers in Paradise--not a comparison that's favorable, what with the lead of that series calling him and every business type who wears a goatee a sheep) than Joss-style beard, plus it just doesn't look like Whedon. Still, is funny.

I wonder what SMG's reaction will be to the Jo Chen one, heh. It's a very un-Buffy-like cover, all bright and Supergirl-ish, but I kinda love it.
As much as I would like to think otherwise, Kris, I somehow doubt Sarah actually pays much, if any, attention to Buffy-related products anymore unless she's getting a cut of the profits.
Of course! Joss is Twilight! It's so obvious now. I mean, Joss knows everything about Buffy. I mean everything. It's creepy how much he knows about her. It's almost like he lives in her head.
Wow. Don't know how I feel about flying Buffy but I like Joss's reaction. It's how I envision him reacting to a mob of angry fans rallying against the deaths of Jenny, Angel, Joyce, Tara and Anya (I might be a minority in the Anya boat but I LOVED her!). So I digress...
Again, Buffy as Superwoman? I am hoping they are just temporary powers and this doesn't turn into a farce. I like the idea of temp powers, she would then have to deal with the loss of said powers.
jiggyfly, true, but fans and other actors from the series have told her stuff when she's made public appearances (like at the Paley Fest reunion). She was informed of Buffy's thing with Satsu and had a reaction. Not a stretch to think a fan might show her the cover(s) to Buffy #32 at some point.

Well, SMG's people approved the art. I wonder though if Seth Green ever did show her the comics like he said he would at the Paleyfest Buffy reunion.

On the Jo Chen cover, it sure looks like Buffy's wearing the same outfit as the vision from Anywhere But Here/Always Darkest, don't you think?
