6 Things io9 is thankful for in Sci-Fi. Includes Dollhouse and a clip of Nathan Fillion dressed up as Captain Tight Pants on Castle.

I love my cap'n!
The shout-outs on 'Castle' were brilliant TV, perfectly pitched and played, though I do kind of agree about the show in general, not bad but not exactly brilliant either (we seemed to be getting into some genuine character conflict and an arc story with Beckett's mother but they now seem to have totally back-pedalled into the much safer "chalk/cheese but actually peaches/cream will they/won't they" territory). The leads are great (Nathan fits the role like a glove) and it's a fun show (which is fine as an end unto itself) but it doesn't look like it's ever going to be more than that.

And if you've stayed TOTALLY spoiler free then the photo accompanying the 'Dollhouse' blurb might contain more information than you want to know.

Personally i'm thankful (in a sci-fi fan sense) that small, thoughtful films like 'Moon' are still getting made (by Zowie Bowie of all people ;) and also for big but still thoughtful TV like 'Flashforward'. Oh and that the remake of 'The Prisoner' was, against all my expectations, worthwhile TV that was trying to say something that both respected the original and was original. Thin line, carefully trodden.
I really couldn't stand the action figure of the Captain/Nathan that was made a while back but I got it anyway. Now, with Castle dressing up as the Captain, I am Soooo glad I did because I think of my Captain figure as me having a Really, Really rare figure of Castle! :) (So, now if Casey will dress up as Jayne on Chuck then I can be happy with that one also someday)

I am definitely thankful for Dollhouse season 2, which has been really hitting it out of the park (and looks like the rest will be a real roller coaster ride. Can't wait). I need to watch Castle, I stopped after the pilot. I didn't hate it, I just wasn't completely hooked and planned to watch the rest later. Seeing Nathan don the brown coat again would be amazing!
Anonymous1 I have one! Still in "its original packaging" to quote comic book guy.
