Happy birthday, Kristy Swanson! The original Buffy turns the big 4-0 today.

I still need to actually watch that movie. Maybe I'll make it a New Year's resolution.
Happy birthday to her!

The dialogue between her and Merrick when she's like "did you just make a joke?" might be some of my favorite Whedon dialogue. I love that scene.
I actually met her for an interview when she came for a Halloween event in Sacramento a couple of month ago. She was great, and looked great.
40!? I'm suddenly feeling very old! The original Buffy is 40!
I'm with Out of Objects on this one! How is she already 40?! That's crazy-sauce.
Happy B-day to her! I saw her at Dragoncon this past September and WOW, hard to believe she's 40!

Did I fall asleep?

Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday Kristy!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTY! I own the original BUFFY movie and watch it before I begin one of my watch every Buffy TV ep marathons. Yes, there are flaws in the film but not in Ms. Swanson's performance. I'm with the editors of the dearly departed Wrapped In Plastic mag who said that while we all love SMG as Buffy, Kristy Swanson was a logical choice as Buffy. She is terrific as Buffy.

You rock, Kristy!
Happy Birthday, Kristy Swanson! I rented the movie more than once. :D
Happy Birthday Kristy.

When I think of the original movie, I cringe (especially if the friends I'm trying to get to watch the show say they want to see the movie first...), but that has absolutely nothing to do with Kristy's performance. I thought, though very different than SMG, she had an excellent take on the character's first becoming a slayer. Her in that movie > SMG with a lollipop in 'Becomming'.

Also, favourite line from that movie:
Amilyn: We're immortal, Buffy. We can do anything.
Buffy: Oh yeah? Clap.
Really? I share a birthday with the original Buffy?
Okay, I'm 44 today. . .but still. ..
Happy Birthday, IWanttheFireBack64!
Happy Birthday, Kristy!

I had the pleasure of meeting her at Dragon*Con this year. What a lovely, kind, gorgeous woman. It was wonderful to see her embraced by so many Whedon fans and for her to send the love right back.

Hope her birthday is a blast!
Loved her in Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, Flowers in the Attic (God, what a sad movie), Ferris Bueller's Day Off AND Pretty in Pink (she got Duckie, after all!).

And... I like the BtVS movie. I'm among the people who are still rooting for Pike to make his Luke Perry-formed return to BtVS canon someday (though the year 0 comics SHOULD be canonized--they're better than season 8, IMO). If Buffy doesn't end up with Angel or Spike, the next on my favorites list is totally Pike.

Kristy and her dark eyebrows (how I used to recognize her before I knew her name--she was 'that person!') were EVERYWHERE in the '80s movies.

Happy 40th birthday!

I'm glad she gets love at Buffy conventions.

Happy birthday Miss Swanson.

I'm actualy one of the few people on the planet that didn't hate the movie. Yeah, it wasn't exactly a triumph of the human spirit, but it was funny. I always looked at it as mindless fun, in the vain of Bill and Ted and Wayne's World. In fact the only reason I watched the show (I was with it from the begining) was because I liked the movie -though I wasn't sure how they could stretch it out into a series, I thought it might be funny for a few episodes before it got old. Then ofcoarse it was nothing like the movie, and the rest is history.
Happy belated b'day to a Deadly Friend *g.
